Today

I went for a walk.  Out the road past Clayton's.

Here, almost to the corner, you can see where the electric crew has cleared the right of way to the top of the hill.  I have wanted to try walking up the hill here, but have always just went on down the road.

Today, I crossed the fence and started up the hill.
I think this rock was turned up on its side by a logging crew.  Surely, it would not be turned up on its side against this small tree otherwise.

Instead of going on to the top of the hill along the line, I turned straight across the hill where the going looked partially clear.  Near the top of the hill, I came across this old rock fence running north and south across the hill.  I have been here before, but I thought it ran along the top of the hill, not across the top as it does.

The rock fence ends here where it intersects with an old road that runs east to west along the top of the ridge of the hill.  Even though it surely has not been used in years or maybe even decades it is still clearly a road.

I wondered around up there until I came to the fence between David Combs and Dan across the top of the hill then went on down the road till I sort of knew where I was.  I crossed back onto our land not knowing exactly where I was on the hill.  I eventually saw a big blue thing off through the trees and knew it was Clayton's blue carport.  Then I saw this and knew I was more or less directly above the 'new' barn.

I came out right here.  When I got home, George was gone again.  He has been at Kelly's digging a ditch with his ditch which.  He brought it home tonight saying he was almost finished.

It was really cool today and looks like it will be the same for the next few days.  Highs around 60, lows in the low 40's.  Back to the grind tomorrow.
