July 28, Saturday, Nap Day

What kind of bird is this?  

Today, I slept until almost 8 and then took a nap this afternoon, so it was a really glorious day off.  Hot outside, but cool and nice inside.

Next Friday, we are going on vacation.  Driving over to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.  I hope to get pictures of the grave markers for Josiah and Jesse Maples.  Also, Ruthea Maples and some of her children including I think Jesse were members of the Forks of the Little Pigeon Baptist Chruch, Sevier County Tennessee.  The Log Church built in the early 1800's is still standing so I am going to have George take my picture inside this Church.  Then, I am going to look for the land along Flat Creek where Jesse and his brothers owned land.

Today, I bought a few new clothes for the trip and looked for shoes.  I wanted a pair of slip on tennis shoes in a tan color.  Did not find any.  I bought a pair of cheap shoes at Walmart, but I really need a new pair of shoes beside my sandals that I wear everyday.  Maybe I will shop for shoes in Tennessee.

It would be nice to have cooler weather next week, but that probably will not happen.

July 26, Thursday, Rain Day

About 3:30 to 4 this afternoon, we had black clouds all around us.

Finally, we got a little rain for about an hour.  Only about 2 tenths of an inch, but it cooled off really good, down to around 80 degrees or so.  The rain is probably over and tomorrow it is back to hot, hot, hot.

But, for tonight, it is cooler than it has been.

Tomorrow is Friday, go home early day.

July 25, Wednesday, Daddy's birthday

It is too hot to do anything.

Helen, I sent you my Dish Network ID and password by email.  I think that is all you need to watch the Closer online.  I did not create an account at TNT, but if you need to do that you can.  I use the fletamae2 email for my dish network account, so if it gives you one of those things that sends you and email and you have to click to confirm the account, you will have to wait till I am home because I cannot get outside mail at work, only work mail.

There have been two new closer shows this season but neither one was much good.  I think they are going for Brenda is going to quit and go back to Alabama or wherever she was supposed to be from.

And, if you do anything that costs me any money on my dish account, I am going to reprocess the laptop.

Two more days of work. 

July 24, Tuesday

And, tomorrow is Daddy's birthday.

I have been googling for an answer to the ant problem on my humming bird feeders.  The last couple of times I filled them, one would be full of ants within a day or two.  I refilled them yesterday and one already has black ants floating inside.  Some said the answer was to ignore the ants, but when the feeder gets several ants in it, the birds quit using the feeder.  Some said make and ant moat, some said put oil or vaseline on the poll the feeders hand from.  I think I will try the vaseline.  Some said put Pam on the poll, but then some said the ants really like the Pam.
