Today is my day

to do whatever I want. That is my way of looking at Saturday. Today, there is a garden sale on the square at Berryville and I am going to see if I can find some plants. Last year, I went there and got the woolly lamb's ear plants that I love. One year, me and Jackie went and got a couple dozen Rose of Sharon plants for a dollar. I hope to find a bargain to plant in the big planter I have set by my front steps. I have had the planter for a long time, left by the renter we had here years ago. It has set by the water spout holding junk. I put the junk in one of George's black tubs and have the planter full of dirt ready to plant. All I need now is inspiration and some new plants.

We have blue bird babies in our bird house. I was hopping the wrens would return to my little house this year, but I fear they are building in the old shop this year. George says he thinks it is still early. We will see. I just saw one hop across the deck.

Well, off to the Garden sale and then going junking. My day.

2010 Census Reward

Arrived today...

I had to hire a crew to get them in the house. No telling how much it will cost me. They said they would send a bill.

See the new floor in the living room? It ends just in front of the couch. Maybe in a week or two we will have it all the way into the kitchen.

The strawberries arrived also. I planted 75 in a 50 foot row at the edge of the garden next to the road. I gave 25 to brother. I offered some to the big boys that put the furniture in the house, but they did not want to work on growing strawberries.

Pictures for Patsy

Patsy, I tried to call you and the line was busy. Then, I called back and no answer. Did you run away?

If you are looking for things to use for planters, I have about a dozen of these cattle cube barrells that Dan Norton gave George. Dan said you can plant tomatoes in them and George thought that was a good idea. I planted my tomatoes in the big garden George plowed up. I told George I would plant some flowers in a few if he would put dirt in them. They are still empty. Do you want some for your planters? I will bring them by tomorrow after work if you want them. All or however many you want. Give me a call.

Then, I need to know what kind of birds these are and why they were watching over my house yesterday. They were sitting in the dead tree right behind my house. What do you think they were waiting for.
I am going in the strawberry business if any one wants to put in orders for next year. I wanted Cardinal strawberries like Daddy grew but could not find them. I found them at Simmons Plant farm at Mountianburg on the net. They are sending 100 plants UPS. Should be here by Friday at the latest. That is really more than I wanted, but I will probably kill some of them. Anyway, I might share with someone if they wanted some plants, but next year, if you want strawberries, I am selling, not giving. I know birds like berries. Do you think these birds will eat my strawberries?
