The road to Dry Creek

This is where Daddy had his garden down at the end of our land

More cleared pastured

Today George and I have been married 35 years. I thought he had probably forgotten and he had, but Helen called this morning and reminded him. He spent 3 or 4 hours brush hogging again and now he is asleep. I am going to grill us steaks and then wake him up to eat. He said he would do the grilling, but I don't have the heart to wake him. Don't the fields look good!

The tractor

This is nephew Kelly's tractor and neighbor Marr's brush hog. It is doing a find job.

The field

Our pastures have become overgrown this summer with no cattle running on them and no trim work. George has borrowed a tractor and brush hog and has cut this one down. It looks so much neater. I will be glad when he gets them all cut. Some places the weeds are over 6 feet high right now.

Tomorrow will be a week

that I have been back to work. I am doing fine. I felt a little under the weather yesterday, so after visiting with Betty and Patsy I came home and laid down till time to go to work today. Today was better. One more day and I get to sleep late 2 days. Hooray!

Went back to work

I went back to work and made it fine. It was better than laying around here all day with nothing to do. I wore a dress to work cause of the bag. One woman asked why I was wearing a dress so I told her. She is not likely to ask that again.

And, now this evening, I feel a whole lot better. Brother brought me some chicken and dumplins, well, more like chicken and lumps of dough. But it was really good. I thought I would eat the left overs tomorrow, but, George ate all the left overs. I have not cooked for him in almost a week and he is getting really hungry.

I feel good enough that I think I will go back to work tomorrow. See if they missed me.
Today is July 29th and I am feeling much better. I took a bath, washed my hair, ate breakfast and now I am reading my email for the first time since last Wednesday. George is buying groceries, cooking and washing dishes. Of these three, buy groceries is the most out of line for George. If he gets the wrong thing, I just send him back again. I think tonight I will have a hamburger for supper. High living...
