Flowers

I have flowers scattered all over the yard in little patches.  Taking care of them would be so much easier if I would group them all in one large spot. It takes a while to water them they way I have them scattered. This is the hen and chicks Helen gave me and flower seeds for later transplant.

Here is my litte water fountain with Helen's bird next to it. The birds like the water.

This is my junk yard patch.  I want to find a junk yard dog to add to this, but it needs to be a real junk dog, not a cute dog.

This is George's tree with several purple and blue flower below it.  I have added a couple of flowers to this.  I planted 2 lavender plants here last year. They were coming on good and got bit back twice.  I am not sure they are going to survive now.

My new garden plot, with sweet peppers, squash and cukes.  I planted zinna and marigold seeds saved from last year in the lower part.

This is where I have my smoke bush and the beautilful purple leafed crape myrtle.  They both are coming back, but the last freeze hurt the smoke tree.  I have planted sunflower seed in the pots.  Last year Helen gave me a sunflower plant that just stole the show with dozens of small blooms all summer here.  I have bought seed that I think is the same variety.  I hope they are as easy and showy as the one from last year. I replaed the plants in the hanging pots with easy care flowering plants.

This is the patch around the dish.  I have added two perennials here.  Perennials are much less work after they get established.

Gardens grow

I planted my garden this weekend, mostly tomatoes plus sweet peppers, onions, squash, cucumbers, zinnias, and marigolds all in a row.

Also planted Helen's garden, several tomatoes and one cuke.
