No G's

My internet device is acting up today.  When I got home, it had turned itself off and it would not turn back on.  After trying different things, I have decided that the USB port on my old computer has died.  It has 2 more ports on the front and more on the back. The other two ports on front are working.  Now, with it on the laptop, the 3G light is red, meaning it is not receiving at that speed.  With no 3 G it is only a little faster than dialup.  When I was at the library a couple of hours ago, there internet was down.  Maybe the internet got a virus.

I ordered a portable drive to back up my picture files, but Wmart has put it on backorder.  I have not decided if I am going to wait or get a different drive.

I have put the programs that I use to update our web pages on this computer today and they seem to work.

This no G's internet is rather slow.

A day in the life

Of an old, old woman.

Today was another fairly nice day.  It topped out at around 50 degrees.  George was out playing on the tractor again.  He is cleaning up the area where the old barn was.  I do not see that it makes much difference, but he enjoys doing this.  In the foreground, I see 3 large rocks that I am going to have him move down with my other rock treasures.

I got my hair cut for my birthday.  It looks much better.  I always let it get way too shaggy between each cut.  Then, I paid $20 for a yahoo account with Pop3 so I can use outlook and download my email to my computer instead of just web mail.  I hate webmail.  My new yahoo email is adaymail@ yahoo.com, but I still have the old fletamae yahoo also.  Then, I found that the gmail that I do not like because they do not let you make folders to sort mail has Pop3 mail for free.  Now I have email on both computers with outlook.  My gmail is one1aday@ gmail.com.

I spent yesterday afternoon and this morning changing my genealogy stuff to the adaymail address.  It took a long time because I have stuff scattered everywhere.  Some of the pages still had my old centurytel email that has not worked for over 6 months.  There are still a few pages that need to be changed, but most are changed over now.

Now, I am going to go order that backup portable drive to put all my pictures on.  I think that is what George is getting for his birthday.  He will be so excited when I tell him.

Here we go

Day 3 of 2011.  Yesterday was a beautiful day.  George was outside playing again.  I stayed in made cinnamon rolls from Helen's recipe, read a book, took a nap.  Today I may buy my Big Day present from the web, or I may just read a book again.

Donna is doing better.  She did not have a heart attach so she should get to come home in a day or two.

George is asleep and the TV's are all off.  He has slept with the TV on for years and years.  I have been trying to get him to turn it off at night, but I think this is the first morning in years that I woke up and he did not have the TV on.  He does not do change very well.  Maybe a new year, a new George?
