My Ship is coming in

For years and years, I have wanted a new kitchen.  Over a year ago, we took out the old kitchen and have very,  very slowly been working on a new kitchen.  Today we went to Lowes and bought new cabinets.  They will be here Tuesday.  They are beautiful.

This is their store display of the same cabinets I got.  I will have a different back splash, I don't know what yet and there is a window over my sink, but this is the Hickory Classic that we got.

They will be about the same layout as we had, with this 18" wide pantry cabinet beside my fridge, then one little cabinet between the cooking range and fridge and cabinets on around to where the bar was.  We are just putting the bar back somewhat like it was so we will have about the same size kitchen, but all new.

We bought a stainless steel microwave / stove hood for above he stove.  Later, we will get a new stainless gas cook range and fridge, but that will be after we get all this done.

I don't know what counter top I am going to get.  They said to install the cabinets first then order the counter top when you have exact measurements.  If I get it at lowes, it will be some form of brown because they did not have a lot of choice, colorwise.  We may get the counters elsewhere.

I am just so please to actually have new cabinets on the way.

Here is a link to the actual cabinets we bought on he Lowes site.

And, thanks, Helen, for the sparkly clothes for Hannah and the things for Robert.  Hannah will be thrilled.  Robert will want a truck.

This is my video of the deer this morning.  I can't get blogger to insert it, so if you want to see it you will need to click on the link.

Big Buckx

X 5 plus 1 small buck.  They all had big racks except the one smaller one.  These are the first bucks we have seen in a long time.

They hung around the salt and mineral blocks about 20 minutes.  Then one by one, they jumped the fence over into Dan's pasture.

Then, wondered over the knoll.  We think they were probably heading to Dan's big pond to get water.

Visitors

The Mama and twins in the pasture down by the fence between us and Dan's and another Mama and one baby at the pond.  I think this is the same pair we saw at the pond last week.  George thinks this may be the one that stays in the hollow over on our side of the road most of the time.

Two Peas in a Pod

Not!  Clayton and George are reuping Clayton's carport.  When they first found it side down up, the plan was to just tip it back over with the tractor.  Then, George decided to use Marr's wench truck to tip it back over.  Finally, Clayton decided to take it all apart and put it back together right.  They have the top and the north side done and are working on the south side.  Then the will have to put the back on.  They should be done in a few more days.

I went up to help, but they did not need a boss as they already had two bosses on site.

This is what it looked like the night of August 6th.

This I know

On the day we buried my mother, six of her children were there at the cemetery.  One child was in Arizona.  One child was with her Savior.  It is possible the child that was with her Savior was closer than the rest of us to where our mother resided that day.  The other seven children, the six at the cemetery and the one in Arizona, were all equal distance from where ever their mother resided on that day, including the one in Arizona.  Funerals are conducted with the living, by the living, for the living.  The dead are in another existence elsewhere and occupied with far different concerns.  Whether one attends a funeral or not, or even if there is a funeral or not, is of interest only to the living.

Of my mother's five daughters, the smartest one left this earth in 1983.

I have always considered funerals to be a Pagan Rite.

Helen wanted a new post

People who play on the internet sometimes like to type their name in Google and see what they find.  Try going to Google image search and search your name.  I think the results might indicate some of us are on the web more than we should be, except, I think Patsy spends as much time as any of us playing on the web and when you type her name in the image search you get almost a whole page of Patsy Cline.  Most people with my last name bring up a lot of Meat Loaf images, but not me.  I even tired Winnie's name. Oh, and all the Clayton Powell images are of black people.  That has to mean something.

Back to work tomorrow.
