Done at last

This is what we put over the septic tank, just in case. George is supposed to put something over the top of this.

This is what it looks like now.

And this.

Resting, but only here for a minute. It really was 100 degrees in the shade this afternoon. I soon went inside where the cool air is. Glad to have this completed.

And we're DONE!!

Well, except tomorrow we have to spread it out. But, that can mostly be done with the tractor...

Now we sit on the porch and watch others work...

And Hauling...

Scoop...

Dump...

Scoop again...

And Hauling...

Put it in the trailor...

View from towards the bottom land Dad used to own.

Take it off the trailor.

Dump it in the yard...

Like this.

Hauling....

?? NO, gravel. This is the gate where the old slab across the creek was. The creek has changed chanels and this side of the creek is about where the far end of the slab was before. Now, what was left of the old slab was covered with gravel, but most of that is now in my yard.

He had to clear away some srubs before starting.

The scoop the gravel.

and haul it out to the trailor behind the blue Ford.

Wild Turkeys

Kathy called and said get your camera, there are lots of turkeys down by the pond. Here they are against Dan's fence, by the old trash dump below our pond.

Lots of babies.

What I saw today at 7 am

I am off work for 4 days. I usually get up at 4:30 five days a week and go to work. It has gotten to where I get really tired of getting up at 4:30 by the time Friday rolls around. I get off at one, so during the winter it is easier. It gets dark earlier and I can go to sleep earlier. I would like to go to work later, and I have the option of changing my hours from what they are to anything that is 8 hours that ends by 5 pm. As much as I would like to go in later, I just can not get myself to give up leaving at 2 pm.

So, it was a great feeling to sleep late this morning an then go out and sit on the new deck with my coffee and just enjoy. But, unlike some people who are always wanting something other than what they have, I also realize that part of the reason this morning was so good for me is that most mornings I do not get to do this. If I could sleep as late as I want every day and sit on the deck and drink coffee as long as I want every day, I could not appreciate it as much.

I have said many times that Tyson Foods has one of the greatest benefits I have ever experienced in my working life. Days Off. They have better days off than any other company I ever worked for. If I did not work, I would never have a day off. This is especially true of women with husbands and families.

I guess Patsy's homeless people do not have to get up at 4:30 and go to Tyson Foods. They certainly have no days off. I am blessed.

Deer down on Betty's place this evening

I was standing in the middle of my yard in front of my house. The deer was on Betty's land, just this side of where Daddy had his garden.

George also saw a mother turkey and babies down in Dan's pasture. I was humming birds and my bug birds.

Gift from Patsy

Patsy sent me tomatoes by Janet at work today. I had bacon and tomatoe sandwiches for dinner. They were really good.

When the big, BIG, man at Tyson's was coming to visit our plant last month, they spent money making things look good. They planted new plants around the front at the main office entrance. I snipped four ends off the sweet potato vines and now have them in my box by the new deck. The dark sweet potato vine I got from the pot hanging in front of the historical center in Berryville. They took root in just a few days.

I do not know what these purple plants are but they came from Tyson cuttings also. They had beautiful blooms on them. I got some piggy back leaves, but I don't think they are going to root. Three out of four is not bad. Gifts from the Gods.

The babies

Our red headed girl.

And the big boy, were here this week end. We will take them back as soon as they wake up from their naps. It was good to have them and see they are doing good.
