So glad for the good news.  Fleta

March almost done.

Is this a purple martin? I have only seen the one this evening in the house, but George says he was 2 or 3 more in the house with him at different times.  I have seem some other birds around that I thought might be martins.  He is singing here.

He gathered grass and twigs from the ground to make a nest.

And from the top of this cherry tree.

I am at the point that I am glad to have birds in the house, whatever kind of bird they may be.

I planted potatoes yesterday or maybe it was Wednesday.  Anyway, I have two rows of potatoes.  A row and a half of Yukon Gold and a half row of left overs from what I dug last year.

We are having gorgeous.  It was hot this afternoon working in the yard.  Tomorrow, I think I am going to home depot or lowes and buy inpatients and something to redo the planter box in front of the deck.  Spring is definitely here.

March 27, mini vacation

The city had sewer problems and the plant was down today.  I went in at 7 am and left at abt 11:15.  A mini vacation, especially since no one was working so everything was laid back.

When we got home Sunday, the little black goat was trying to abort her kid.  She finally had it Sunday afternoon.  I thought she might not make it through the night.  She was locked in the barn and lot but I did not bother to latch the gate as she was barely moving.  Monday morning, George saw her down here in the road by the house.  She was out grazing today so I guess she is going to be fine.

The dead place.

Jacob Shank.

John Vincent Leathers.

Looks much better than it did last year at this time.

March 26, Monday @ home

We made it there and back with no problems, except George did not feel so good so we came back Saturday.  Started out about noon and got home around 11 pm.  The kids did really well and had a good time with their Dad.  George went to the doctor yesterday and got some antibiotics.  He is breathing better and feeling better today.  I was glad to get home with a day to rest before going back to work.
