I told myself

I was going to stop buying things I do not need, but I guess I lied to myself. I wanted a small water picture for my succulents. I actually had several here that would suffice. But at Lovejoy's this morning I saw this really cute teapot below and decided to buy it for a watering pitcher. As I carried it around, I decided I was going to use it as intended, making tea. So, I also bought the yellow pitcher below for a water pitcher. I think it is supposed to be a squash. They are both really cute, but I certainly did not need either. just the same, I have made a pot of berry tea and it is very good.

Happy

Halloween.

Going to be a gorgeous day today. Watch out for goblins.

Here comes the sun..

We have been getting cold rain all week, but last night just before sunset the sun tried to break through. Today was sunny and dry for a change. I am glad. I am tired of doom and gloom in all things including the weather. I want sunshine and warmth.

Kids are at a ballgame tonight. A little slice of normal.

Sunday the time changes. I wish we could just decide on regular time or saving time and keep it all year. I don't thing daylight saving time save anything and we waste time and money changing around twice a year.

We had our first hard Frost this morning, October 30. I remember when we were kids Daddy said the average first frost was October 10. Twenty days difference.  Maybe that is because of all that saving daylight.

Do you know...

1. How many African American women have ever served in the US Senate?

2. How many African American men have served in the US Senate?

3. How many African American  men have been elected to the US Senate? Hint, the answer is not the same as #2.

4. The largest number of African American Senators serving in the Senate simultaneously?  Ever?

5. How many women have served in the US Senate? Ever?

6. How many US Supreme Court Justices we have had that were not white males?  Ever?

7. That there are now three women and one African American male serving on the Supreme Court and that is more than half of the answer to #6?

8. What brought on this line of questioning is that I heard the answer to 1 & 2 on a news show and could not believe the numbers they stated were correct. These numbers say something about our country.  What do they say to you?

Walking

3 miles this morning. It was in the mid 40's, but I dressed for it. The dogs really love it when we go farther.

It is definitely fall. Yesterday was cool and rainy but today is better.

Yesterday I took a long, long nap but I am staying awake today but not accomplishing much.

Greg has been working on his truck brakes for a couple of weeks. He would fix one thing and another would break. Today he thinks he has them really fixed.  We will see.
