Bible Study

We started a new Wednesday night Bible Study last week.  We did not have BS this week, but we had homework that I did not get completed.  Since I am not working today, I am doing my BS homework.

This week's Bible Study Verses:

Philippians 4:19

{4:19} But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

To me, this means that God will take care of me.  He is in control, not me.
No need for me to worry.

II Corinthians 12:9
{12:7} And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. {12:8} For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. {12:9} And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. {12:10} Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in

To me, this means when I am weak is when I lean on Him most, so I am strong in Him when I need him most. When I think I am strong and depend on my own resources, I am weakest because I am not leaning on His strength.

I Corinthians 10:13
{10:13} There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it.

To me, this means that the things that happen to me [or you] are ‘common to man’, or things that can happen to anyone, but have faith that God will take care of you and He will.  Rely on Him, and he will provide a way.

Romans 8:28

{8:24} For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? {8:25} But if we hope for that we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for [it. ]{8:26} Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. {8:27} And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God.

{8:28} And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

{8:29} For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. {8:30} Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. {8:31} What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us? {8:32} He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? {8:33} Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? [It is] God that justifieth. {8:34} Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. {8:35} Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? {8:36} As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. {8:37} Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. {8:38} For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, {8:39} Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

To me, this is just saying again that He will take care of his own.  If He gave his Only Son for us, how would he then not take care of us?  He is in charge. We need not worry ourselves about our little inconveniences here on earth.  Someday, we will see all and know all and understand all.  Although, this study picks out the one verse, to me, all these verses need to be studied together to really understand verse 28.

John 10:28
{10:26} But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. {10:27} My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: {10:28} And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. {10:29} My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father’s hand. {10:30} I and [my] Father are one.

To me, this is saying His sheep are saved and shall never be taken from Him

Hebrews 13:5
{13:15} By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name.

Thank God.

And / Or

I am at work,  not working.  The dirt road had a glaze of ice @ 5 am. No school again.  Next week's weather looks much more promising.

We have a full tank of heating LP, as they come out yesterday and filled it.  I checked This Old House  gas tank next door earlier in the week and it was at 60%, so should be good till spring.

Em may not go to Spf tomorrow after all, so things are looking up.  We may need to take her to a friend's house later today, but I am hoping no big trips tomorrow.

Since I am not working, I looked at the GF school site for updates.  They had a link to online brain games so I took a look. I like the online knowledge quizzes.  I took this one
https://www.brainpop.com/technology/computerscience/logicgates/

On computer coding, 0, 1, and, or, not Just because.  Hence this post's subject, And / OR. I made 70%.  I don't know the whys and wherefores, but I have a natural talent for computer programing.  It has to do with algebra, math and logic.  I guess it is like people who have natural mechanical abilities.  Machines do not add up with me.

Betty and Astrid, I really love the GF tiger emblem that Astrid made for us.  I was wondering, if maybe, she might consider making a couple of small ones [10 inches or so] somewhat like this but not exactly for Robert and Hannah's teachers.  Ask her.  I know when I used to do crafty things, I enjoyed doing one or two, but did not care for doing several of the same thing over and over.

I have it as my computer background at work on this computer.  It is so bright and cheery, it makes me feel good.

Maybe I will go take another quiz now.

Snow, Ice, Cold, No School

They are wanting feed, but I am going to wait and let George feed them.  You can't see it, but there is a small amount of ice on all the trees.  It is thicker on the weeds and grass.  It is supposed to ice a little more tonight and then snow a little early in the morning.  The roads are pretty good, but I bet there is no school again tomorrow.  I made it to work just fine today.  We will see about tomorrow.

George had been feeding the goats down in front of that little shed in the background of the picture.  He has out some hay from Sisters horse stash and cattle cubes.  He is gone to the store now and will feed when he gets back.  Yesterday, about sunset the deer came up and were eating the cubes.  It is the first time we have seen them eating the goat feed, but we were feeding then up here by our house instead of across the road.

I have not walked since Monday. Weather is just too miserable.

On the Road again...

I was going to stay  home again, but woke up at 3 am and could not sleep.  At 5 I walked outside and found only dry sleet, not slick at all.  I was here by 5:30 with no problem.  This is taken through my windshield the corner on the hill just past Dan's.  It is supposed to do more tonight, so I may not be here tomorrow.  Just in case, I am not going to actually do any work here today.  It should be enough that I made the effort to come in.

Kids are home, another snow day.  When I left, everyone was still fast asleep.

Tomorrow

is probably not going to be a good day.  So far we only have a little misting of ice, but Springfield has glaze ice on all their roads.  If we get ice, I will not go in tomorrow.  Hannah is hoping for a no school day again.

At least I was missed at work.  It amazes me how they sometimes can not figure out how to do the simplest things.  A customer requested some data from our computer data.  Not only did the man not know how to get the data, he wasn't even sure we had the data to be gotten.  Someday, I am going to retire and he will really be lost.  Especially if he does not grow a backbone, which does not seem likely at this late date.  Anyway, I was missed.

It is really cold here, around 27 or so and I did not walk today.  Monday morning it was 13 degrees and I had a good walk.  The difference is wind and moisture.  Monday there was no wind and the air was really dry.  I have logged 64 miles this year with 5 zero days.

Tomorrow is probably going to be even worse with ice and snow.  You would think it was winter.

Snow day

It started snowing around 11 last night.  We got a little more than an inch of dry powder. It was 9 degrees this am.  I did not go to work because I wanted to walk.  I bundled up and stayed nice and snug.

Green Forest Arkansas Tigers

and Emily Jade Aday

I bought this for Emily's birthday from Astrid Christensen.  It is completely hand drawn by Astrid.  It is beautiful and Emmy loves it.  Plus she was really surprised.

Happy Birthday little girl.

And thank you Astrid.  You did a wonderful job on this.  You are so talented.  Must take that from your Grandpa.
