August 30, Thursday

Just the facts, in the news.

I like to read news from Google News because it has news from all sorts of sources.  If you have not tired this, take a look...

Today, two head lines only two lines apart on the news page told the whole truth about the state of our economy and, I guess, our news...

I did not click on either link to read the news, but I am sure they both had all the facts...

Google Dog Crap

OK, I searched and found lots of people were having trouble since yesterday uploading pictures to Blogspot.  What they all had in common is that they use Google Chrome.  Seems Google broke their own products.

You can use IE or, with Google Chrome, before trying to upload click on the little HTML button to the left of the screen, red arrow above.  The upload feature looks a little different, but it will work.  After you get the image uploaded and it says it is added, click the done button.  You will see what looks like a lot of gibberish if you have not used HTML code before.

Before typing anything, click on the COMPOSE button right next to the HTML button and all will look normal again with your image in the posting window.

I may just have to use IE.

Adding a picture works with IE but not Google Chrome.  That is weird because blogspot is a google product.

Greg is working near New Town ND.  The Keystone pipeline runs near there, but he is working on tanks for another pipeline or refinery, not sure which, but they have several tanks to build.  Then, they are widing the highway there from 2 lanes to 4 lanes.  All those extra people needing housing has strained the little towns around there.  They have trouble even renting a room and then they cost a lot. He is hoping they will have a weekly room tonight.  At least he is working.

I am going to go goole blogspot and google chrome won't upload pictures and see what I find.

August 28, Tuesday

Well, blogger will not let me put up a picture tonight.  It just spins and spins.  It must think my name is Helen or Winnie Jo.

Anyway, George has got the waterline he was fixing for the garden put in and buried.   It works, but I stopped watering the garden 2 months ago.  It will be good for next year.  We use it to water the goats in tubs.  The pond is so scummy that about a month ago I started watering them in tubs by hauling the water in the tractor bucket or the back of the truck.  We only have to water them a couple of times a week now.

I still have tomatoes, but  they are very small.  I just pick what I want to use and let the rest go to the bugs.

Son is in ND and has a place to stay tonight.  He says maybe tomorrow they will get a place by the week.  He and another worker he already knew are rooming together.

Helen, he says the laptop works fine.  He will enjoy having the net and it works fine for what he needs.

August 26, Sunday

Baby getting a drink.

Yesterday, we had a half dozen or so blue birds on the bath at one time.  I think it is likely they are siblings that hatched out in the last few days.

Emmy is learning to operate heavy equipment.  When she graduates, she should be able to get a high paying job, maybe on the keystone pipeline or something.
