Helen wants to know

why I have not been posting.  It is because I am in Mt. Vernon Ill, 409 miles from home, sleeping under a bridge.  I have walked 100 April miles and have 2 days left in the month.  I walked 5.5 miles tonight, around by Fred Smother's to see what his great grandkids and thrown into the road since last Sunday.  I found 2 beer cans, which is not bad considering that stretch of the road had as much or more trash than any of the others before.

And, I have been reading.  I got a few books at the library last week. I read Laura Wilder's new book and one by a survivor of the Armenian genocide.  I enjoyed both books.  And, since we are studying the gospels on Wednesday, I am trying to read the one we study each week.  Last week it was Mathew, this week Mark.  I read both and will start on Luke, to read it through before next Wednesday.  I also trying to start back on the OT, but it is slow going.  I am to Isaiah 20.  I stalled out on the Bible reading sometime around the first of March and just started back this week.  I think I was about half way through Isaiah but could not remember so I started back towards the first of that book.  I was reading on my lunch break but since it is warmer now, I have gone back to using lunch as naptime.

Then too, last weekend, the kids decided they wanted to play on my tablet/computer again.  For the last month they have hardly ever picked it up, but now one of them has it every night.

And, she only posts once a week.

Mt. Vernon is about the size of Harrison,  I am a little less than 200 miles from Louisville, KY.

Cemetery Day

Friday, April 3rd, not much grass or weeds.

Arpil 3rd,again.

Today, April 26th, before we mowed.  Lots of grass and some weeds, but no bushes.

We started at 1:30 and were done 3 hours later. I mowed and George ran the weedeater.

This was the quickest we  have ever got it cleaned the first mowing of the year.  I only killed the mower one time on a rock, and did not get the mower hung up on any of the little stumps.  Maybe someday we can even use the riding mower, but we need to fill in  some depressions from the groundhogs. We did not find any active groundhog dens, also a first.  Now we are tired.
