More views from the red dirt road

I am off to town now with my little red truck and my cell phone. I forgot to get gas again last night and it is now setting on mt. If it stalls on the hill, I hope I can get it stopped before we crash at the bottom. It is no fun to crash at the bottom of Meek hill. I know cause I tried it once. I hope George wakes up if I call him for a ride, cause I have been walking the road so much, all the neighbors will think I am just out walking and drive on by.

The hill

I made it to the top of the hill and on to Teddy Orrell's house, but I took the camera and took 150 pictures, so it took me a hour and a half to walk the 3 miles. It was nice though to walk early in the morning. My hands got cold holding the camera so I am going to go to the library in a bit and look for some books and then go to wally world and buy some $1 mittens made in China with slave labor. When I was walking up the hill, Ruthie's dog kept barking and barking. Finally, I heard Ruthie yell at it to shut up. I saw all the old neighbors start their day by driving off somewhere, Dan, Verlie, Frank and Donna, all in separate cars.

These are some of the things I saw.

Not a one tree hill

Today, at sunrise, I am walking up Meek hill. I weighed at work, and I had lost 7 pounds since I started the daily walking thingy. I get tired of walking the same road each day, so today at the dawn of the new day, I am walking a new road. Well, the road is very old, the walk is new. Remember when the mail box was at the top of the Meek hill and sometimes we walked to get the mail? And sometimes we road the donkey. Does anyone have a photo of any of us on the donkey?

For the sisters

And the cousins, and the nieces, and anyone else that is interested.

This buzzard was sitting in the top of a tree in the pasture next to Clayton's house when I went for my walk over the hill. Do you think he was just waiting for Clayton?

I found this at work:

A beautiful day on the red dirt road

Still Walking

Well, Friday I walked the 4 miles, to the red barn and back. But, it made my feet ache, so I am back to the 3 mile walk for a while at least. Yesterday morning, I took a detour just past Dan's house and walked up a road through his field to the top of the rock quary. I saw lots of brush and this old rock fence at the top of the hill. I wore my PJ's and got stickers all over them. I have washed them with some old clothes, but have not looked. I guess I will be picking stickers out of all the clothes for a week.
I have the two big grandkids today so I am going to try to get a new picture of all 4 together.
