What's

This?  Betty, look it up in your book. I had to put my fingers in the frame because without a reference, the flower seemed to me to be much bigger than the actual size.

I started walking at 8 and finished at 9. That is really slow for a mile walk. The sun has still not burned off the morning fog.

After a while, I will take the kids to get lunch and snacks stuff. Anymore, I make them pick their own snacks, but they still don't eat half what we buy. I take the excess to work and feed my co-workers. They will eat anything.

It isn't easy being a good neighbor

This afternoon I heard dogs barking down in the neighbor's field just across from our field.  Cows were bawling and carry on something terrible while bunched up and running through the field.  After a while I got worried that maybe my dog was in on this, but I found her in the yard.  I tied her up so she could not join the party.  After about 30 minutes or so, when things just got louder and louder, I thought maybe I should try to do something.  I went out to get a better look and saw my dog had gotten loose from her lead.  I got my trusty walking stick and started going down towards the cows calling Daisy. Daisy did not come, but the white dog did so I put her in the house and started out again trying to find Daisy.  As I started down the road, she came to me from the other direction, so she had not gone to join the fun.  I tied her up more securely this time and sat on the deck to see if I could see the dogs causing the trouble.  I sounded like several dogs, but all I could see was 2.  Finally, after this had gone on for about and hour and the cows sounded even more distressed, I went hunting for the neighbors phone number to call them.   When I told her some dogs were chasing her cows, she said they had someone with dogs helping them get the cows up.  Looking at these dogs, they do not look like stock dogs to me. But, whatever.

Fall cleaning

I pulled up most of my zinnas today. They were still blooming, but had mildew on many of the leaves. It was spreading to the purple crape Myrtle. It was so beautiful earlier I want it to survive the winter. The zinnas were crowding it way to much.

It was another fallish day. I am glade to be rid of the 90 degree days.

I have been cleaning, organizing, and trashing. I am trying to do a little each day. The living room and my room are looking better. The kitchen and laundry are next. I think the current fad word for this is downsizing. It used to be called getting rid of junk, as apposed to junking, which is collecting junk. Current fad word for that is hoarding. Now, if I could start downsizing my weight as opposed to hoarding.
