Rain now, maybe ice tonight

I took this yesterday around 4 pm. We are now getting a slight mist, had some sleet earlier.
Everyone look at Jackie's Blog and see what is coming our way. They have LOTS of snow.

And it is not over

Till the fat girls cry...

If you want to see more pictures I uploaded some to our Powell website here

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~powell/Clayton/

All in the family

This is Donna Kay (used to be Powell) and Tammy Newberry Humbard.

The Boss, and the whole crew

Kisses and Hugs

Clayton's leave taking

It started with the shirts...
And went downhill from there.
For Patsy's blog friends, the old man in the blue shirt here, is Kelly Poor, Patsy's son, Clayton's nephew giving Uncle a hard time and enjoying every minute of it.

Retired

Clayton's truck in the parking lot at work today.

Oh, happy retirement.

And my favorite cartoon of the day

And Then

there is Mr. Meadors. Mr. Meadors was one of Clayton's high school teachers, many moons ago, but for the last 10 years or so, Mr. Meadors has worked for Clayton. Clayton still call him Mr. Meadors and Mr. Meadors calls Clayton Mr. Powell.
Meadors is a story teller and he told us some stories today. He said, after he went to work for Clayton, some people who knew he was once Clayton's teacher asked how they got along. Meadors said we get along just fine cause I have always remembered some very good advise my father gave me. That is 'Never kick a turd. You never know, the turd might be your boss some day.'
Mr. Meadors closed his story telling by saying, Mr. Powell, if you ever run out of whore money, almost anyone here would recommend you for re-hire.

Old Friends dropped by

and flashed a smile. But, Betty Deweese flashed much more than a smile...

He got presents

I gave him the two photos of him when he was much younger and Lonnie and Ray gave him this slightly used inflatable doll....

Oh, Happy Day

Brother is retiring...

The office / lab was decorated with dozens of cartoons, most of them custom drawn by our resident cartoonist. These special messages were framed so he can enjoy them forever.

This is a reproduction of our plant's company newsletter for several years ago, also customized and framed.

This is 2 of his favorite 'girls', Sue and Tina.

Just dreary rain, no ice here

It looks like we are going to miss out on all the ice and snow. It rained all day, so we have lots of mud, but it is 38 degrees now and likely will dip only to around freezing tonight.
Anyway, if we do get ice, brother says he will come get me in the morning for work. The only other snow and ice we had this season I did not go to work. He has something that has to be done on the puter in the morning, and is not going to risk having to do it himself.
I made an Angle Food cake for his party tomorrow. Friday will be his last day at work. I am so happy for him. Wish it were me.

Hannah's New Buggy

This is the $5 Buggy after Grnadma worked on it. Her new matching blanket is laying across the front of the buggy.

The Five Dollar Stroller

Before Grandma worked on it.

Hannah Baby's New Stroller

Hannah and Robert needed a double stroller. Grandma found an old one for $5 and recovered it, making it beautiful with a matching blanket. But, it was in Arkansas and Hannah is in NM, so Grandma bought this one online at Wal-Mart and had it sent to to Hannah...
Jackie has posted some new pictures of the babies on her blog at Jackie's Blog . But, the Blog Globbers stopped by Jackie's Blog while she was asleep and changed it all around with a new design. I think the Blog Globbers did not like her ugly green links or something. You better be careful with your pw or the Blog Globbers might stop by your blog and do away with ugly green text.
