New school clothes

I bought the birthday boy a new long sleeved shirt, pants, and a sweatshirt so I had to get the same for the girl. These will be good school clothes. Both sweatshirts are lined with that very soft fleece. They feel so soft and comfy.

Last week end at big lots at Harrison, I bought these 2 fleece throws, one pink and one blue that are big enough to cover a full sized bed for $3 each. The sun is reflecting off them here, so they don't show up quite right, but they are very soft and very big for $3 throws. Then I bought the bright purple sheets that are just like the bright blue ones I have. I am going to use the purple ones in this room, and use the blue ones in my room when we get it done.

Today, I painted another piece of a wall in my bedroom. I will have to wait for the window fix to finish the rest of the painting in the bedroom, but I painted my bathroom today. Tomorrow I will put another coat on it and then I will take a picture. It will look much better all white and clean. I bet Helen did not know you can paint over dirt and make things look clean and pretty. I bet she thinks you have to wash the dirt off the walls before you paint. You can even paint over cobwebs. That is my house cleaning tip of the day.

New Dawn

Yesterday, my oldest son turned one year older. Why do I say it that way? Because I have trouble wrapping my mind around the age of my children. My son is now the same age I was in 1985 when my children were not even teenagers. In talking with son, he seems to be at a point in his life where he might see a new dawn. At least I am hopeful today. There have been many times in his life when hopeful was not in sight.

Monday, my youngest grandson will turn 5. That is a number I can relate to. Grandson is also seeing a new dawn. His teachers say they think he will be entering kindergarten a year from now. Definitely seeing a new dawn for grandson.

And, there is soon going to be a new dawn in my own life in my bedroom. George has torn out the piece of water damaged paneling below the window and found the wall studs have to be replaced. In the process of fixing the wall, he is going to attempt putting new windows in the bedroom. The problem with new windows is that the current windows are non standard size so he either had to put in larger or smaller windows. He says he thinks he can put in larger windows, so yesterday we purchased 2 new windows for my bedroom that are 2 inches wider than the current windows. When he cuts the new openings, I will likely see the new dawn right in my bedroom through the holes in the wall for years to come. After living with the man for 38 years, I am expecting new windows in those larger holes in the walls no latter than 2015.

I am looking forward to many new dawns in my holey bedroom.

Working, working, working

I put new linoleum floor squares down in the little bathroom Sunday and yesterday. It looks really nice. Very clean and I did it all myself.

It was back to work today. I have 2 of the walls in my bedroom painted, but I am not working on painting tonight. Maybe tomorrow night. Or, maybe not till the week end. Or, maybe I will come home from work one day and George will have finished the painting. But, I am not holding my breath.
