The Eagle Trees

There are a number of trees along our local roads that I often see eagles perched high up in the top branches on cold winter days. We call these trees eagle trees. Eagles prefer dead trees, I guess because of easy take off and an unobscured field of vision

 Because they are dead, many of our eagle trees have fallen over. And, J. R. being a real farmer likes to cut his eagle trees. That is a hawk in the top of the eagle trees below from Saturday morning. However, Saturday afternoon i had my first eagle spotting of the season not far from this tree. Winter is coming.
