Well

Sister insisted she would help.  I did the mowing, and she used the weed eater until we ran out of string.  Then she pull weeds around the stone.

Before.  Grass and weeds over a foot tall.

When we got to this point, I ran over a stump and the mower stopped working.  I knew I  had bent the blade, but was not sure but what I bent the shaft also.  We can to the house, George went to Wally town and got a new blade and string for the eater. Mower worked as good as new.  I went back at 4 and got finished just before 6.  Helen did not go back, as she took Emmy to get a new dress for a dance this week.  Hannah and Sam went along for the ride.  I bet Hannah had a great time.

After pictures below.  Now, George is making steak and potatoes for us, and Emmy is bringing Pizza for all the kids.  I am resting.  Tomorrow is graduation day.

Today

I was planning on mowing the cemetery, but it is cool and overcast and the grass is very wet.  We will see.

Grandma:  Put your paper plate in the trash.
Robert: OK, you have to say thank you.
Gramdma: YOU, have to say thank you [I meant for making his pancakes for breakfast]
Robert: Thank you. Puts his plate in the trash.
Grandma: Thank you.
Robert: No, you say your welcome.

Hannah's Career Day

She said she wanted to be a teacher and teach kids 1+1.

We had Patsy's pork chops, potatoes and gravy tonight.  They were really, really good.  Home grown pork tastes so different from Wal-Mart pork.

Helen made us BBQ pork tonight, but I had already started supper.  We will have BBQ sandwiches tomorrow night.  Oh, Boy, no cooking.

She also made an Angle Food cake.  It was really, really good also.

It was unusually cool today, 45 degrees at 3 o'clock.  Tomorrow is supposed to be up to about 65.  I am ready.

Friday is Hannah's fairy tale dress up day.  She is excited about that.

Egg thieves

no more.

We had two big black snakes in the chicken house this afternoon.  See the big lump in the one on the right?  That is a purple stone egg Patsy gave me years ago.  Last week I decided a snake was stealing eggs again, and I put the purple egg in the nest for him.  If we had not caught them in the house and dispatched them with the 22, I think the purple rock would have taken care on the one.

I made George cut the purple egg out.  I will put it back in the nest tomorrow, just in case we have more snakes in the hen house.

Kids did not have sense enough to come in out of the rain.
