Necessity...

Is the mother of invention.  When I started my walk at 6:45 this morning, it was drizzling and 44 degrees.  When I got back home, 6 miles and 2.5 hours later, it was damp and 34 degrees.  Phone weather said snow flurries, but actually by the time I got home nothing was falling from the sky,  just damp.  But at one time, for 10 minutes or so it was sleeting.  I had, I thought, dressed for the weather, fleece pants, under shirt, sleeveless turtleneck sweater, warm over sweater, my warm vest,  the nice red all weather lined jacket someone gave me, and an orange toboggan  because it is modern gun deer season.  I did not take my nice warm fleece scarf or my fleece neck thingy that I stole from the empty neighbor's house.  By the time it started sleeting, I was a bit cold around the face.  I took the sleeveless turtleneck off and put it over my head, like this.

We had a few flakes fall this morning. Cliff and I used to put on coveralls and muck boots and stocking hats and walk even when it was zero sometimes. You can't imagine how I miss going for my walks. When you have to give up a certain routine you've had for 30 years, it's a big loss.
