2014 Billies

We got the check for the Billy Goat Sale.  The 5 billies brought $208, yardage was $29.50, net was $178.50.  Two billies sold together for $52.50, and I think that was probably Bertha's two.  One sold for $20, which was probably Lil Sister's spotted billy that was only 6 weeks old.  One sold for $44 and one for $39, which was probably Lady Grey's billies, because they were somewhat bigger than Bertha's billies even though they were almost the same age.

This was taken a month ago, on June 19.  That is Bertha's two in the back on the left.  Lady Grey's two behind on the right, Little Sister's little spotted billy in front.  The spotted on in the middle is Little Sister's nannie born in December.  She is almost smaller than the billies beside her. Bertha's billies were born April 27th, Lady Grey's billies April 9th, and the little ones in front were born June 9th.

Lady Grey and her billies.

Little Sis and billy on left, nannie on right.

I am glad to be rid of the billies.  Now, the little nannies can take a rest before they get bred back.  We plan on buying a billie near the end of September or beginning of October.  And, I think we will take that little spotted nannie to market when we go to look for a billy.  Might even take Little Sister.  She sure had little kids.
