Mama's Friend

Donna Lee Marr, age 79, of Green Forest, AR passed away Monday, April 1, 2013. She was born January 9, 1934 in Capitan, New Mexico to the late James Holloman and Belva Marie (Conder) Holloman.
On November 6, 1954 she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Frank Marr. In 1968, a few years before Frank’s retirement from the military, they moved their family to Carroll County and settled outside of Green Forest.
Donna worked a number of years as an inspector for USDA. She was a member of Shepherd’s Chapel in Gravette, AR. She was a humble, warm and generous woman who always put her family first. She especially loved her grandchildren and will be remembered by many as “the world’s best cook”. Her life, like her flowers in full bloom, was most beautiful and she gathered friends everywhere she went.
Mrs Marr is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frank Marr of the home, sons, Frank Marr and wife Debra of Green Forest, Steve Marr of Vinita, OK, Craig Marr of Green Forest, Darrin Marr of Green Forest, 2 brothers, Eddie Robinson and wife Linda of Bakersfield, CA, Ronnie Holloman and wife Helen of Albuquerque, New Mexico, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren (counting one due next month) as well as many other loving family and friends. Besides her parents she is also preceded in death by one son, Larry Allen Marr and 2 sisters.
Celebration gathering will be 5-7 PM Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest. Cremation burial will be in New Mexico at Alton Cemetery at a later date.
