Well Fleta did they set these on fire or was it just baled wet or what?

They were steaming in the evening sun. The bales were damp, the sun heated them up, and then they started steaming. Don't you remember, if you put damp hay in a barn, it lets off heat and the barn is in danger of burning. Remember Patsy's story about Daddy making them put the hay in the barn then they had to go take it out cause it was still damp and the barn was in danger of burning. Newberry's hay barn burned in the early 80's from damp hay.
