Popup revisited

All the sisters have now tried my Windows Popup eraser. Betty is trusting, she just did what I said and was glad it worked. Patsy is cautious, or in Ozark terms leery. She did it, but warned me if her computer failed I would have to make a house call. But Helen was the funny one. She said she did it but she confused the popup image in my blog message for a real popup and was trying to click to make it go away. I thought she was just making this up to be funny.

Well, when I took the furry tailed bird pictures, I was scrolling thourgh my pictures to find the best one to post, and suddenly here was a popup warning me of mixed content. I looked at the top of the screen to make sure I was on my drive and not at an online site. I had never seen this popup except online before. And, no matter where on the screen I clicked I could not make it go away. I thought my computer was locked up, so I proceeded to try to close out everything so I could restart it. Then I decided to try one more time with the pictures to see what was wrong. This time when I came across the dreaded popup, I realized it was my image of the popup I had save for posting to the blog. So, Patsy, if you steal my popup image, like you do some of the other pictures we post, don't call me when clicking on OK will not make it go away...

Red Tail Nut Cacker

George filled the bird feeders the other day, the first time in a month or so he had re-filled them, and we have been seeing a varity of birds on the feeders and ground underneath. This is a new one to us. We have named it the Red Tail Nut Cracker.
I wish Helen were here today. I am going to clean out my closet. I hate cleaning jobs, but I am going to do this. Wish Helen were here.

Windows Popup Eraser

I got a new computer last fall and some things about it are much better, faster, and smoother than the one that died. But, some things are VERY annoying. Like the little security window that pops up when I click on the bloger comments that says 'this site contains both secure and non secure content, do you want to display both...' I have wanted to get rid of this stupid warning since I first saw it, but tonight I just got really fed up and went searching for the answer. Found it and now no more stupid secruity popup.

If you want to get rid of the stupid mixed content pop up, here is how to do it.

Click on Tools
> Internet Options
> Click on the Security Tab
> Click on the Custom Level button
> Scroll down to the Miscellaneous section
> under Display mixed contedt, click the enable button
> Click OK

Hurrah!! No more stupid mixed content popup.

Chief Low Dog
Xunka Kuciyedano Oglala This powerful and respected warrior, born in 1846, became a war chief at age 14. In 1876 he joined Sitting Bull's war party on the Little Bighorn. A Minicauju Chief; he fought against Reno and Custer; his full brother was killed in the battle. Low Dog's account of the battle is one of history's best known.
"At the time we Oglalas had no thought that we would ever fight the whites. Then I heard some people talking that the chief of the white men wanted the Indians to live where he ordered and do as he said, and he would feed and clothe them. I was called into council with the chief and wise men, and we had a talk about that. My judgement was , why should I allow any man to support me against my will anywhere, so long as I have hands and so long as I am an able man, not a boy. I said, Why should I be kept as a humble man, when I am a brave warrior and on my own lands? The game is mine, and the hills, and the valleys, and the white man has no right to say where I shall go, or what I shall do. If any white man tries to destroy what is mine,or take what is mine, or take my lands, I will take my gun, get on my horse, and go punish him." (cannot find source or verify)
I called to my men: ìThis is a good day to die: follow me.î...As we rushed upon them the [soldiers] dismounted to fire, but they did very poor shooting. They held their horse's reins on one arm while they were shooting, but their horses were so frightened that they pulled the men all around and a great many of their shots went up into the air and did us no harm. Aberdeen SD

Well, next week my babies are off to Aberdeen South Dakota. I am not too happy about this, as they will be about 16 to 20 hours from home vs the 8 hours now. George says the pop. of Aberdeen is about 24,000 so it is almost twice as large as Beatrice, NE where they are now. I thought there might not be much going on in Aberdeen, so I thought I would see if they had an online paper. Sure enough, they did, and sure enough, what was going on was about the same as was going on in Beatrice; flooding.

If you want to see what is going on in Aberdeen, take a look at their newspaper.
