Kathy Jane Adams
of Marshall, AR

May 11, 1951 - September 22, 2022

Kathy Jane Smithson Adams, 71, of Marshall passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She fought a courageous battle with cancer, which she succumbed to and received her eternal healing on September 22, 2022. Kathy was born May 11, 1951 in Oakland, California to Darwin and Wilma Owens-Yancey Smithson.

Kathy enjoyed life and being around others. But most of all she enjoyed being a daddy's girl and a grandmother to Justin, Baylen and Haven. From a young age she enjoyed music and began to sing in church, which continued with learning to play the guitar. A love of music that she would share with her grandchildren. Kathy attended Dongola Community Church where she was an active member until her passing. In her retirement, she found a passion for caring for others and quickly took on the role of caregiver. She spent countless hours checking on other's loved ones and being there for them, which she felt was a calling from God.

Kathy was preceded in death by her friend, Clayton Powell; her father, Darwin Smithson and brother in law, Gary Rogers.

She is survived by her mother, Wilma Smithson of Marshall; daughters, Michelle (Johnny) Hinchey and Shanette (Chris) Loggins, both of Marshall; grandson, Justin Hinchey of Harrison; granddaughter, Baylen Adams of Mountain Home; great-granddaughter, Haven Hinchey of Harrison; sister, Brenda Rogers of Marshall; uncle, Jackie (Sandra) Smithson of Marshall and a host of family and friends. Special Thanks to Gail Ledger, Erica Smithson, Dr. James Zini, Dr. Dmitry Zak, Baxter Regional Medical Center, Carti Mountain Home and Legacy Hospice.

Funeral services for Kathy will be 2:00 PM Sunday, September 25th, 2022 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Jackie Smithson and Bro. Bruce Smithson officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 till 2:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will follow in Dongola Cemetery. Bearers are Caden Nipp, Brock Smith, Joe Sutherland, Brandon Housley, Joey Pruitt and Greg Tilley.
