Poems

Sisters are posting my poems. Here is one I like that they may never have heard before.

The Knowing Tune

Oh, for my corner of darkness
Wrapped in my unknowing cocoon.
Back to the song of silence,
Before hearing this knowing tune.

To sit in my corner and do nothing
Was easy when I didn't know.
But the howling winds of knowledge
Demand I get up and go.

The child next door is hungry,
She shivers alone in the cold.
As I sat in my corner of darkness,
I swear that I didn't know.

Now, I hear her cries in the darkness.
I know she is there all alone.
And the howling winds of knowledge
Demand I get up and go.

Oh, for my corner of darkness
Wrapped in my unknowing cocoon.
Back to the song of silence,
Before hearing this knowing tune.
