Firewood
Greg has been cutting the yard tree into firewood for George Jr. He is going to use it at work in the shop because they have a wood stove. Greg about has it all cut into firewood lengths.
It has been cold. I am not liking it. Today it almost made it to 50 degrees.

I have been going through my pictures picking out ones to give away. I decided to put a few in frames and display them by Helen's picture.

Remembered Days...
They say there are days everyone remembers. My rememberer has never been as robust as that of many others rememberer, but there are days of my life that I remember well, even to the clothes I was wearing at the time. When I googled days everyone remembers, I could remember some, but not nearly all that were listed. Of course, some of these were before my time, but not many. Anyway, here are some of my remembered days.
August 18, 1954. Sister Helen was born. Daddy woke me and Betty up and took us up the road to Delbert O'Dell's home. Dr. McCurry came to our home and delivered Helen and we came home to a new sister. I remember thinking that we could play with her in our doll funiture like a doll. Sister was not a doll. I remember having to watch her while Mama did her housework. I would lay Helen on the bed in the back bedroom and bounce gently on the bed until she went to sleep so I could go outside and play.
May 2, 1956. Debbie Lee was born. We came home on the school bus. Richard was on the hill above the road cutting brush with an ax. He shouted down that we had a new baby sister. I did not believe him. She was our greatest blessing.
July 13, 1961. Gilbert Melton Powell was born. Daddy and come of the kids were down below the pond at the garden he had in the middle of the pasture digging potatoes. Mama went out in the yard and yelled for them to come to the house. I spoiled little brother to death.
November 22, 1963. JFK was shot had killed. I was in the 10th grade at Green Forest working in the library as an aid to get out of study hall. I was sitting on a stool, wearing my cool white jeans. Geneva Waterman told us the President had been shot and killed. That was all that was on TV for at least a week. I remember watching, watching, watching.
June 5, 1968. RFK was shot and killed. I was working at Franz Foods in Green Forest. The next morning, as I left the yard to go to work, the raido said RFK had been shot, tragedy upon tragedy. I was wearing a multicolored orange shift style dress. To me, it was an even sadder than when JFK died.
July 20, 1969. Apollo landed on the moon. I was living in Kansas City with George's cousin's family. Sharon and I went to a drive in movie that night because we knew nothing would be on TV except for the moon. We were not interested in the moon.
November 3, 1992. Our very own Arkansa man through and through, Bill Clinton, was elected President. Never before had one we considered one of our own achived such heights. I was working night shift at Tyson Foods. Clayton and John Fisher, both supervisors, stayed in the breakroom all night watching the returns.
9/11/2001. I was working day shift at Tyson Foods. Bob Costello told me about the planes and as I walked by a TV in the hallway I saw people falling from sky scrappers above New York.
Feburary 1, 2003. The Space Shuttle fell to earth, killing all seven onboard. I was in Harrison shopping and saw it on a TV in a store window.
That's my list. What is yours?

Robert has wheels
2018 Ford F150. He is well pleased. He also purchased a 3 year extended warranty on the power train thru the dealer. The payment is well within his means, at $200 below what he takes home in one week.

Visiting Sister
I got up just after sunup Saturday and drove down to Sister Betty's. We had a good visit and I bought some presents to send to the great grandkids in Colorado. I want to mail them the first week in December.
This the coffee pot I got from work in 2018 for time served. It has served me well, but about a year ago the buttons to set the time stopped working. The buttons to set when it starts still worked so I just adjusted the start time as needed. Today I was determined I was doing to set the time. After repeatedly punching buttons, hard, I got the time set. Then I get the start time for 3:30 am. Ready to go. No! At 3:30 pm it started making coffee. Now, I think I have it all ready for tomorrow's work day.

Sunny and warm
It has been in the seventies yesterday and today. Supposed to freeze Sunday night.
Greg has been putting insulation in the underpinning of my trailer. Yesterday he found a water line leak, but he has it fixed now.

Back to Work
The last day I worked was October 9. I was gone 11 working days. When I am gone, management does my job because they do not have anyone trained for my job. Well, the only part of my job they did was what had to be done each to produce and ship product. Everything else they left for me. At noon today I was all caught up. I knew most of this would be left for me, so I was a bit anxious. All's Well. I should have known. That's the way it has been for several years, and really, I prefer to just do it myself.
