I don't remember seeing anything like this recently.
These are spider flowers (cleome). Aunt Thelma gave me some seed from these plants sometime in the 1980's. They grow like weeds, bloom all summer and reseed. These are from seeds from 2 or 2 plants I bought last year at a nursery. I had hundreds of these to come up this year. Many even in the grass in the yard around where I grew the 3 plants last year.
I picked 5 gallons of corn and put 3 pints in the freezer and saved enough for supper. We are having home grown pig, home grown corn, home grown potatoes, home grown tomatoes and Walmart grown gravy.
