May 24

Son, JR, has called twice recently saying he might be on the local TV news.  I always ask if he got arrested.  Earlier this month, the company he works for, an explosive blasting and drilling company, blasted out a hole in someone's back yard to make a bunker because he was one of those doomsdayers making himself a hole to crawl into.  It was filmed by the National Geo channel for there bunker series this fall.  Don't know if he will actually be on the film or not, but he was out there all day with the film blasting out the big hole for the bunker.

Today, he called and said he might be on again because someone had found a bunch of old blasting caps in Hollister and they were out there all day checking it out.  I got distracted and missed the news tonight, but I went to KY3 online and found the video here

Junior is the one in the blue t-shirt and camouflage baseball cap.  You only see the top of his head.  Oh, and the explosives were found at the city police station.

He was at the police station, but he did not get arrested.  I am so releaved.

And, no new baby goats, but the two big brown goats are definitely going to kid within a few weeks if not sooner.

And, I guess it says the explosives were found at the school.  I could have sworn it was the police station.  I guess that is just where I expected son to be if he was on the news.

May 21

Watered the garden, or at least the tomatoes. peppers, squash, and onions this evening.  I hate to think what July and August is going to be like when we can't even get a rain in May.  I don't think I am going to water the corn.  If it does not rain, I may just pull up the corn and feed it to the goats.

We have seen one lone deer on the salt block down below the pond twice in the last few days.  We think he might be one of the twins that is a male and his mama ran him off because she has a new baby.  At least that is my story and I'm sticking to it.

Lilly little bit is just like her Mama.

This is the second time she crawled through the gate tonight.  Billy has stayed behind both times, although, Saturday night we heard him crying around dark and thought something had caught him, like Clayton's bobcat.  But, we went up there and he was outside the fence and could not get back in.  All the goats were upset at his crying.

She started down the road, so I had to run her back through the gate.
