After we got home yesterday, the girl wanted to put up the Christmas decorations. Emmy was here, so they mostly did it all themselves. Somehow, I seem to have lost some of my decorations, including the star for the tree. We put this bow on it and I will get another star later.
Today's menu is Turkey, cause the girl insisted Thanksgiving meant Turkey, cornbread dressing, gravy, homemade rolls, mashed potatoes, green beans, fruit salad, pumpkin and apple pie. Wally World had pies for $3 so I am not making pies from scratch. I cooked them last night and we sampled them. The apple pie is really good, the pumpkin is not as good as homemade but the boy liked it anyway. Only me and the boy are awake at this time. We had pumpkin pie for breakfast.
The turkey is in the oven and the dressing is ready to add at the correct time. I am going to make the salad in a bit and the potatoes. On Chicken in the Road, I found a hint that I am going to try. She said make the potatoes early in the day and put them in a crock pot to keep warm. I am going to try that.
We are eating early, around one or 2, because I am going to join in on the new giving day tradition of giving thanks for shopping day. I am going to the W to get the kids a ipad mini for Christmas. I think it might help the Boy. I thought about getting a cheaper brand, but they use the Ipad at school, so that is what I am getting.
Then I am getting the girl a new TV for her birthday. Her day is Monday, but party is Saturday. I have a new outfit for her and that is all I am getting. Daddy is in charge of Bday toys.
I got the satellite internet. At first it did not work just right, but I called the help number and now it is all working. I wanted this because of the ipad. The school told me we could log on their site and use the programs they use at school.
Saturday, we are getting new equipment for Dish so the kids can watch what they want. I am tired of watching spongebob. The equipment we have now only supports 2 TV's so our bedroom and the kids bedroom TV have to be on the same program. After Saturday, no more spongebob for me. That is part of the kids birthday and Christmas present. And, I guess Grandpa's too.
Have a wonderful day.
