As GM goes so goes the nation...

Well, according to the CEO of GM, GM goes with Obama.

from CBS:
"Without the money, without the funding, it would have been very problematic," said Akerson. "At the risk of alienating a whole lot of potential customers, I would say the Obama administration did a good job."

What is the world coming to?

And then, Romney did not win Iowa, someone else did,  the Santorum did.  Now they say maybe Ron Paul the nutcase won Maine.

The Repubs are a big joke this year.  Gone to the dogs, I guess.

Forty Seven

In the dark.  The electric had been off for about 2 hours, since 4:30 or so but just after I took this pic, it came back on.  This made me think, I can still use the computer and get on the net, even if I do not have electricity.  And, that made me think, I have had the laptop for a year and 3 months and this is the first time we have been without electricity  for more than an hour or so in that time.  I had never even thought about being able to use the computer when the power goes out until tonight.

I don't know if Patsy can use her laptop on the net without electrical power or not.  Her internet may may have to have electrical power to work.

The coyotes were howling down on Dan's tonight.  I have not heard them in the evening for a long time. I remember, a few years ago before we got the dog, there was one on the hill no more than 50 feet from the house howling.  They do not get that close anymore.  My goats go in the barn to sleep each night.  I do not think the coyotes will bother them, but we will see.  Still no babies.  I am thinking it will be another month or so before they kid.  We will see.

Today was another spring day.  This winter the global warming thing is working out for us. I just hope the spring and summer hold.  Last year in the spring we had terrible floods and in the summer terrible droughts.  Maybe Rick Parry will pray for us.

Forty Six

Today was rainy and felt cook, but it is still almost 50 degrees out.  I guess it feels cooler because it is so damp.

I went out at sunset to take a photo of the ducks on the pond.  I walked to the end of the house, to where we park and took 3 or 4 pics of the ducks.

As I walked back to the deck, I saw movement out in the field.  There were about 10 deer right across the road in the field in front of the house.  All I saw were white tails flashing in the distance.

Forty Five

I think spring is coming.  Yesterday we had ice falling on our heads and today I was walking up to the neighbors in shirt sleeves.  His hours have changed again.  He got someone fired so now he has to do their work.  That is not the way he told it, but I think that is what happened.

Patsy, brother wants to know what is up with all of the Robins.  He said he saw hundreds in a field between here and town the other day.  I have seen several in the yard a couple of the warmer days, but I do not see any today.

I am making Chicken and Dumplins for supper with George's help.  Helen, here is the recipe and it is to die for.

Two or more split chicken breasts, wash them and place in the bottom of the crock pot.  Season to taste with poultry seasoning and pepper or what ever seasoning you like on chicken.  Cut up half a large onion on top and a couple or two stalks of celery.  Add one can cream of chicken soup, and two cans of water.  Cook for 4 to 6  or 8 hours.  Take the skin off the chicken and feed to the dog.  Stir the chicken so it comes to pieces and remove the bones.  Feed the bones to the dog. Take some bisquick mix, stir in milk to make it just right for dumplings.  Drop by spoonfulls on top of the soup, cover and cook 10 to 20 minutes till the dumplings are done.

You could make homemade noodles if you want, but dumplings are easier.

Forty Four

The Goat Man.

I made it to work and back with no trouble.  We had a little snow when I went in, but the roads were fine.  Coming home the pavement was clear and the dirt road had just a little slush.  It has hovered around 30 to 32 degrees all day.  I think it is about over.  We did not get ice like they predicted.  At least not yet.  We will see about tomorrow.

The 'dog' picture yesterday was a Coyote.  We see one or two every once in a while down by the fence where the salt block is.  They usually just trot across filed and disappear in the brush, but this one stayed along the fence for 15 to 30 minutes, hunting for prey.  They do not bother the deer.  The big deer sometimes chase the coyotes.  I guess they could kill a newborn if the mother deer was not around, but coyotes are no danger to adult deer.

Here he has caught something and has it in his jaws, I saw him jump and catch whatever it was, probably a mole of somekind.

Forty Three

Was not a bad day,  Started off cold, about 15 degrees, but warmed up to upper 30's.  Tomorrow we are supposed to get some falling stuff.  We will see.  Kids went home.  Peace and quite.
