May 3, Happy Birthday Patsy

I bought you flowers, but I know it would be a lot of trouble for you to take care of them, so I will just keep them here and post pictures every once in a while.

George made me a hanger at each end of the deck, and now he is making another one in the middle.  I will have to buy another flower for it.  Maybe I will buy one for Betty Jean's birthday and take care of it for her also.

I am not saying how old Patsy is, because I don't know.

May Day

A truly beautiful day.  We got a little more rain.  All together in the last two days we got about an inch or a little more.

Garden is doing great.  No baby goats.

I was going to stop by the German's place and get some cantaloupe plants tonight on the way home, but  forgot to take my purse this morning.  It is way too muddy in the garden anyway.  Will get plants tomorrow.

Then, George had made me 2 nice hangers to hang baskets at each edge of the deck, so I am going to look for baskets to hang.  May just buy plants and make my own, but I will still need hanging baskets.

Tomorrow is Debbie's birthday.  She would have been 46.  Doesn't seem possible.

April 30

Yesterday George worked on the yard and I worked  up the garden.  I just tilled up the row of Powell potatoes that had only 4 plants.  Today it rained, so that was good timing.

Sometime this week, I am going to put the cages on my tomatoes.  I have 26 tomatoes and 25 cages. 

At the garden sale Saturday, I bought a black russian tomatoe because it had basil plants with it.  I also bought a purple basil and some other things I have forgotten about.  Oh, yeah, I bought one aparagus plant.  I already have 2 asparagus patches, but I thought I would plant this one plant with them.  The seller should have told me it is useless to plant one aspargus by itself.

I am so glad it rained.
