George the kid
George is still cutting and splitting wood. I helped him this afternoon and he was splitting a lot of pieces that were only about two and a half inches in diameter and some of them were only two inches thick. He says they will burn better split. I guess if we run out of money to pay the gas bill, we can go over to the shop and stay warm.
I am cooking tomorrow. I have a turkey but Lane and Junior complained about not having ham so I bought a small ham. We will probably have left overs for two weeks.

No post for three weeks
and then she said....
Helen does not understand the subtleties of journalism.
I am so glad my computer mouse is working again. It was very irritating to try to do anything on the computer with the mouse going off in its own direction.
The only wood stove we have is in George's shop, but it is a dandy. George and Greg made it from a kit (door, pipe opening, and lid), a metal barrel that I think the paid $7 for and scrap metal they had on hand for the front, back and legs. It makes a wonderful shop heater.
George's wood splitter on the back of the tractor. He borrowed it from Frank Marr but I think we are going to buy it from him. It is sure easier than splitting wood with and axe.
Wood, cut and split in the last 2 days.
Good Arkansas oak fire wood. I think the going rate for firewood here is $35 a rick now, but George is just cutting it for his shop.

And then she said
See the horses on the hill and the ducks on the pond.
I have been unhappy with my computer. The mouse has not been acting right. I changed to a different mouse twice, but I was using ones I had around here. Finally I broke down and spent the whole $12 and bought a new mouse. Now it is working. It had gotten so bad I could not even crop a photo. I should have bought a new one 3 months ago when the problem started.
Junior bought this small 4 wheeler. He said it was for the kids, but mostly he rides it. I think it may have been for Daddy instead of the kids.
