I Give Up!

On Microsoft's Edge on my new computer.  I just got tired of trying to make it do what I wanted instead of all that promotion of itself crap.  It is just really insists in all things Windows even on the web. I downloaded Chrome this morning and even that was difficult because Microsoft would not let the download acto link work.  Had to result to manual download and then had to select Chrome as default on about 20 ro 30 different file types one at a time.

Then last straw fell in Campobell County, Tennessee last night.  I was trying to find an early map of Campbell County, Tennessee and download it as an image.  Finally got something from National Archives, but then tried the same thing for North Carolina and could not get there.  That's the trouble with trying to go somewhere with Microsoft Edge on the web.  The answer is often "There is no way to get there from HERE!".

Chrome offers easier control from me.  Maybe partly because that is what we have to use at work, but anyway I wanted a familiar road, not a maze.

Live Long and Prosper

Prosper may be up to you, but the live long falls mainly on your genes. Although, if you prosper, it can help supply the tools to live longer.

If I make it a couple more years, I will have lived longer than any of my siblings, to date.

This is all of us, taken in Daddy's front yard sometime in the early 80s.
Debbie in front went first at 27 years.
Patsy was the oldest and lived longer than anyone, making it to 76 years.
Richard lived to 69.
Clayton also make it to 69.
Gilbert, the baby, only made it to 60

Dad lived 73 years, and Mom 71.

Dad's father died at 71, and his mother at 81.

Mom's father died at 84, her mother at 82.
This couple were the longest lived couple of the three generations.

Our Great Grandfather Powell lived to 77 and Grandma to 71.

Our Great Grandfather Gaddy lived to 70.

Great Grandmother Gaddy lived to 72.

Grandpa Maples died young at 46, Grandma Maples 63.
These two had the shortest lives of our parents, grandparents and greatgrandparents.
Betty looks just like Grandma Maples, but she has made it well past 63.

Grandpa Thomas lived to 90, the longest lived of the 3 generations.
Grandma Thomas lived to 72.

That is 14 ancestors in the 3 generations. I have lived longer than 9 of the 14.

Mom's parents and grandparents lived longer than Dad's, but she lacked 2 years living as long.
That is likely a direct result of all those renegade children.

Sunday was laundry day

And when I matched up my socks, I had these two with no mates. I decided to just wear them here at home like this. Tonight, when I looked in the sock drawer for sock for tomorrow, I found another pair just like these. Who knew.

Today was a gorgeous day, topped 70. I love the sunshine. I walked to Dan's and back plus a little. With what I walked at work, I got 11,550 steps.  I have to get back in gear.  I have had a few days this month when I did not break 3000 steps. I have had trouble dealing with the cold this winter. Much more than ever before.

Spring will be here soon. But Greg days it is supposed to snow Friday. I am not going to look at the weather report. Ignorance is bliss.
