Memories

 

Of times long ago is the focus of this little book. Helen checked it out at our little library.  It is short essays, mostly one page, written by one of our high school teachers. I have really enjoyed reading it and remembering Fayrene Farmer, the teacher.

Beautiful Start

Summertime

 

At 5, it is 71, but at 4 it was 74. Our 2 week average temperature is probably 40 degrees now. February has its ups and downs. This week we are in the ups.

The Rock Quarry

 We have always known our  home was at the foot of  The Rock Quarry.  As a child, I thought that was just what we called are rocky hill.  No so.  The Rock Quarry is its official name.

1012 feet elevation.

Mama said they quarried rock from the hill to build the old bridge at Denver.

 KY3 Says 19, but my thermometer on the back porch says 26. Of course, this am it said 2 degrees.  One more day before we get above freezing. I am still not going to work til Monday.

I ordered gas earlier in the week, but had not seen them come out. I got worried today and went to see how much I had left.  I guess they came the day I called, because the tank is full.
