A baby blanket from Aunt Helen

This is the little girl at work that is having a baby. Helen made the blanket and even bought most of the material. It is so, so soft.

I did not fool anyone I work with. As soon as she took it out if the bag, several people asked, ' Did Helen make that?

We got it!

Helen got the J&J shot today and I got my first Moderna shot.  A very good day.

At the time of my shot, the significance of the March Eleventh date did not register.  On this day one year ago, WHO declared Covid 19 to be a world wide pandemic. Oh, what a year!

Surprise

A friend at work is having a baby shower, her first baby. I bought material and Helen made her a baby blanket. It is realy cute but I forgot to take a pic before I wrapped it. I could never make it look this good again if I unwrapped it for a pic. I also got her a box of huggys because that is what she said she was going to use. I bet after buying a few boxes of these, she decides the wallyworld brand will be just as good. The shower is Friday, but I will just give them to her at work.

Beautiful day for a walk today. I have 3 days of 10,000 steps this week.

Spring

First blooms of spring.  These bulbs protected by our Rock Quarry are always the first to bloom in the spring.  I walked out to cemetery road, 1 mile, and did not see any other blooms this morning.  I made my 10,000 steps all 7 days last week.  We had beautiful weather all week.

Sister Helen ready for Church this morning, in her $1 Church dress. Less then 2 weeks till she can get shot, and about 3 weeks for me.  We are anxious to be shot twice.

Ducks on the pond

On top of the Rock Quarry.

Combs pond just across the fence on top of the hill. I walked up here yesterday.

I saw these ducks.  In all the pictures, the ones on the lower left here stayed in this one place at the edge of the pond and the others swam all around.  The were too far off to tell what kind of ducks they were.

With the zoom on the camera, I can see the two in the corner are our ordinary Mallard ducks.

The others are all Bufflehead Ducks, according to google

You can see the male and female pair on the right here.

and here.

And all of them again.  If you click on the images they will enlarge so that you can really see why they are called buffleheads.

Uncle Floyd's Barn

Today was warm but overcast. Now it is drizzling rain. Nice weather this am for walking.

Helen went to church and took Hannah and Allison.  I did not go. She said the usual suspects were there.
