the Repubs think the big O is going to win the election.  They are all running away from the 2012 run.

No water, no work

Something happened to the water at work and we are not working today.  Well, not working at the plant.  George and I, mostly George, are going to work on the window in the back room.  By Friday, I plan on him having ALL the new windows installed and the wallboard up.  Friday I should be off again, and I am going to paint the new walls around the windows in the living room and the back room.  Maybe.  We may have to work Friday since we are not working today.

Now, pictures.  The picture of Daddy as a baby was one I got from Aunt Winnie years ago when we got all those of the Powells and Maples family, as below.

These were added to our Powell website in 2002, so I had them before we connected with Winnie Jo and got some of her pictures.  You can see all these that I have on the website at the link below, but I have many, many, many pictures that are not on the web anywhere.  I like pictures.

Now, the Rudd girls in Patsy's pictures.  I think Frances Sue is the one with the long hair and Mary Ellen is in the first pictures with Jonnell and the baby.

Jonell married Kenny Gatlin, Mary Ellen married a Forney and Frances Sue married a King, both from Alpena and both live near Alpena now.  Barbara married Roscoe Wade, Easter married Billy Newberry, Cindy married the Tallent guy but is divorced from him and I do not know if she is married now.  I can never even remember the youngest one's name, but I think she is a nurse.

Olney and Virgie Rudd children from the 1920 and 1930 census were:
Fred 1913 (Jewel F.)
Frances 1917 (Julia Frances)
Frank 1920 (Benjamin Franklin)
Carl Dean 1923
Billy Joe 1929

New pictures of old pictures

The cousins had some old pictures yesterday and I took a picture of some of them.  My camera will take good pics of pics if you get a good position so the overhead lights do not glare on the pictures.  I did not try to find a good place to take these out of the glare.  At home, I sometimes take pictures outside to do this.

These are all children of Olney and Virgie Rudd.  I think Virgie was a Gibbs.  From left to right, Lois, Billy Joe, Frances, and I think Fred.  I thought Lois looked more like Virginia's sister than her aunt.  Lois is only 12 years older than Virginia.  That is the same difference between the ages of Patsy and Betty.

Truman and Frances.

Truman.

Children of Truman and Frances.

Patsy saw an old picture there that she was wanting to 'lift'.

This is the picture she wanted.  Willis, Thelma and Truman Powell.  I printed two copies of this the night before and took them to the gathering to give to the cousins.  I am glad patsy did not snitch my donated pictures.  You just can't take her anywhere.

New stools

I got these new barstools at Wally world, today.  Actually, yesterday, I bought 3 like them only taller.  It was really funny that as I was checking out yesterday, the clerk said I have some stools like this and some short ones.  These are too tall.  Well, I had measured my bar stools and they were 24 inches, but in the store, the short ones looked too short. I was wrong.  Today I took them back and got short ones. They only had 3.  I may get another one later and maybe not.  Three is really all I have room for.  I knew when I saw them they would match my cabinets and I was right.  About that anyway.  I was a bit off on the right height.

George got the last window in the living room today.  Only one left in the back bedroom and he will have them all in.

Then he gets to start on the doors.  And the new counter tops.  He is a man of many jobs.

For Helen

Helen thought I was confused and this was actually Frankie, not Donnie.  She said this and the other person I said was Frankie was the same person.  But if you look closely, in this photo he has Donnie written on his shirt pocket.

And, in this one Frankie has his name written on his sleeve.

And, here is another one I took of them standing together, and anyone can see they both have their names on their shirts.  I don't know why I did not notice they had their names on their shirts before.

New pictures of old people

Happy birthday to Kenny,  Sixty three years.  This is Lois, Frances' sister, Virginia Lee behind Kenny, and Rusty, Frankie's son-in-law beside Virginia.

Donnie, Virginia, Bobby.

Bobby, close up, for Helen.

Old grouch.  Helen, she looked good and behaved herself, for the most part.   Thanks to Sammy for hauling her around.

Lois, Kenny, and Rusty Hooten.

Frankie and Patsy.

Jimmy, in the blue shirt across the table.

Tracy, Frankie's daughter with her daughter sitting on her lap.  The daughter, Frankie's granddaughter, looks just like Tracy did when she was a kid.

Jimmy, in blue shirt, Tracy and her daughter again.

That is all I took.  I mostly talked and did not have time to take pictures.

Betty, I told them you could not be there because you had to see a man about a dog.
