I finished my first e-book yesterday. Then lost the free ebook I downloaded from Google. Found it tonight, but it vanished again. I tried downloading it again, and it opens, but then vanishes when I go to another book, so I just downloaded it as a html web file. We will see if that works. I have downloaded two more books to read this weekend. One is a book I remember Betty telling me about, The Warmth of Other Suns and one is S***t my dad says, which is humorous stories. That should last me through the weekend. I am really liking getting books without going to the library, however, it was harder to find something I wanted to read this time. After a week or two, I will probably be like Patsy and not find anything new to read. If Helen will tell me her numbers, I will see if her library has more books.
Speaking of Patsy, I went to the library thingy tonight about the library 2 go training. They are supposed to find out what is wrong with error 710 or 701 or whatever and get Patsy out of jail. I told them I googled and found the same thing they said about wait awhile posted several times as an answer to this error, but I did not find even one person that then said, 'Thanks, I waited a day and it is working now.'
I got the Dugard book from Betty in the mail yesterday, and read it last night. I really did not mean to stay up and read the entire thing, but I did. It was interesting, sad, but interesting.
Tomorrow, I am going to get a permanent because my hair looks like a dry haystack. Then, either tomorrow or Saturday I will go get the babies. I will give them the box of clothes and cars Helen sent and they will think it is all from me. I got Hannah some jewelry instead of toys.
Next week, I am going to get George back on the cabinets and get the bar fastened down. Then, the next weekend we can see about ordering countertops. We may shop around for countertops instead of ordering them right away, because I do not really have any one one thing in mind as to what I want.
Off to bed now. Have to get up one more day and go to work then two days off to play with the babies and read books. I can't get anything much done when they are here, not even reading books.

Error 710
I googled Overdrive library software error 710 and found several people asking about this error message [like the one that put Patsy in electronic jail]. The answer was always the same: Wait, Wait, don't do that...
When I tried to return an ebook early, I got an error message: Early Return Error" (error 710)
There is a limit to the number of ebooks that can be returned early within a short period of time. The lock out time depends on how early and how many titles have been returned early in that short period of time. Patrons will have to wait a day or so for the lock out to end. They should still be able to check out Audiobooks.

I really like the library ebook reading so much more than I thought I would. Patsy said most of the books she wanted to read were not available. I can find more available that I want to read in the ebook list than I can at the actual library. I am sure that is because no one else wants to read the books that I read.

Work in Progress
January 2009, before any redo on kitchen or floor. This was during the ice storm when we had no electricity, but it was always dark and gloomy even with electricity.
April 6, 2010, we removed all the cabinets.
A few days later,we painted everything white. It looked better this way to me than it did with the old kitchen.
One year and 5 months later, September 11, 2011, not completely done, but much closer. I am very pleased so far. The microwave / stove vent hood looks very professionally installed. There is just a small piece of pipe yet to go above the cabinet for the vent and then the vent will be done. He is going to make a false front above the cabinets here to go all the way to the ceiling and make it look better. It has all gone better than I expected and looks great. Gilbert was a big help in getting the microwave installed. It is nice to have brothers that know a thing or two.

Skinning the cat, and Truman's letter
This is the only thing I have, as far as I remember, which is not very far, that Truman wrote to his father. Click on the image and you can see it much larger. Truman's part says, Papa will you make Mama let us go opossum hunting with Priced Jones.
Truman
Mama said to wait till you come home to go with us.
The bottom part is from Daddy and it is upside down from Truman's part.
Daddy said,' Dear Papa, would like to see you.' Then something about a rabbit that I cannot make out.
This letter and a few more pages are here at our Powell family site:
There are some more photos here:
And skinning the cat. I do not have a bookmark for my Powell site on this laptop. I go to Patsy's blog and scroll down for the link that says Powell and that is our family history website. I have so much up there that I have to just go hunt for things like these letters. I knew I had them at the site, but not really where they were.
This is Grandma Powell's cookbook.
It has recipes from Thelma, Loveta, Fleta, Winnie and Frances. It has a recipe from our Mama, but we all know this is not our Mama's recipe. It is Grandma Powell's recipe. There is even a picture of Mama, one of Frances and one of Thelma. I think I gave the actual cookbook to Laura Jean. I don't know where the actual letters are. I don't know if I have any of them or not, but I don't much think I do.
And another cat. I lost the little thing that I use to transfer photos from my camera to my laptop. I know it is here somewhere, but do not know where. I am mad at myself for losing it. I went to Patsy's and got the one I gave her that she could not use. It did not work. The power light would not come on for it. So, I found the cord to my camera and just connected the camera directly to the laptop. It worked fine that way. Maybe I can keep up with the cord.
George is trying to skin the cat of installing the microwave / stove hood. It is slow going. Stay tuned.

It's Friday
And I am on Vacation, so I decided to go for a walk. I wanted to walk up on the Rock Quarry and see if there were any deer up there. Wednesday morning about 7 am, George heard 5 gun shots coming from the Marr boy's direction. We were afraid he might have shot one or more than one of our deer. I was just hoping the mama and twins and the other mama and her one baby were all still here. In the last two days I have seen all these, but we have not seen any bucks since the day of the six at the salt block. At first all I saw was stuff like above.
I went up to David's pond, right on top of the hill above my house. This spring it was really swampy up there and you could not get within 100 yards of the bank without boots, but all the mud around it has dried up now. It is a beautiful spot. At first, I did not see anything except bull frogs.
Then, I heard a scratching sound and saw these two squirrels playing chase on an old dead tree by the water.
And on down by the water.
Round and round they went, enjoying the wonderful fall day.
Then, out of the woods came our Mama and the Twins.
Mama takes a drink.
And then the babies.
If you click on this one to enlarge it, you can see the squirrel tail in the tree above the fawn on the left. The squirrels are still chasing each other in the trees and the fawns are watching.
I watched and snapped pictures for a few minutes. Then, I don't know if they saw me, or if the squirrels spooked them...
But all of a sudden, it was tails in the air and they were gone.
And, I made it back to the house just fine.
