Two Angels

And the Ice Cream Monster.
The babies are here today. Angels for now, but when they wake all all bets are off.
George is breathing better and my knee is much better. I am thinking it is going to heal afterall.
George cooked us a ham yesterday while I went to pick up the babies. It was a first for him. He did a very good job. I may make bread to go with it today since Jr. and the big kids will be here today. I may have to go buy Ice Cream for the Ice Cream Monster. Ice Cream is a favorite for Em and Grandpa.
Right now everyone except me is asleep, so we are all at peace.
And Helen, what is this about not ever meeting a dead person you liked? Exactly how many dead people have you met lately?

No news

is not news.
I have taken several pics, like this one, meaning to post them here, but it did not get done. I love reading everyone's blog and keeping up to date on what is going on, but sometimes posting is just a chore.
I had Greg's babies again this week end. They are doing good. I did not get any good new pics tho. Greg is working 7 days a week now, so when the babies come I take care of them. Now that they are a little bigger they are not so hard to take care of. The thing they are into now is fighting with each other, but other than that they do pretty good. Robert is almost completely potty trained now. We are proud of him. Hannah is just a mess.
George has been sick and had to go to the Dr twice, but he is better now. Some old can not breath thing. He goes to VA for his checkup tomorrow, so he may get them to give him something for the head cold. When he gets a cold, he has a lot of trouble getting over it.
Then, I my knee has been really bothering me for a couple of months now, but last Monday and work I really hurt it. Wed. I went to the DR and she said I needed surgery. I thought maybe after the first of the year, I might do that, but by the end of the week it was better. I think now if I can still hop, I will probably not have surgery.
Now, that is how things are here. Don't you wish you had not asked?
Oh, yes, I almost forgot, the real reason I have not had time to post here is that we found a new dead person so I have been adding many dead names to our tree. You know how it is when you find a new dead person in your tree. It has to be taken care of before the other things.
We found that Jesse Maples' wife was Jemima Atchley. We knew she was Jemima but not Atchley. She is our grandma Gretie Powell's great grandmother. And, she is of the same Atchley family as all the Oak Grove Atchleys, so we are related to our teacher Bessie Atchley and to Aunt Loveta.
You can find Jemima in our tree here

When you click on her name and then go up to her parents and grandparents, all those names before her I have added in the last two weeks. Dead trees take lots of time and care.

George the kid

George is still cutting and splitting wood. I helped him this afternoon and he was splitting a lot of pieces that were only about two and a half inches in diameter and some of them were only two inches thick. He says they will burn better split. I guess if we run out of money to pay the gas bill, we can go over to the shop and stay warm.
I am cooking tomorrow. I have a turkey but Lane and Junior complained about not having ham so I bought a small ham. We will probably have left overs for two weeks.

No post for three weeks
and then she said....
Helen does not understand the subtleties of journalism.
I am so glad my computer mouse is working again. It was very irritating to try to do anything on the computer with the mouse going off in its own direction.

The only wood stove we have is in George's shop, but it is a dandy. George and Greg made it from a kit (door, pipe opening, and lid), a metal barrel that I think the paid $7 for and scrap metal they had on hand for the front, back and legs. It makes a wonderful shop heater.

George's wood splitter on the back of the tractor. He borrowed it from Frank Marr but I think we are going to buy it from him. It is sure easier than splitting wood with and axe.

Wood, cut and split in the last 2 days.

Good Arkansas oak fire wood. I think the going rate for firewood here is $35 a rick now, but George is just cutting it for his shop.
