Walking

I have been attempting to get back to walking daily with very limited success.  But, at least I did make it out for good walks Friday and Saturday morning, leaving the house before daylight and making the top of Meek Hill by sunup at 7 am.  Today, it is just 34 degrees, so I am going to try to walk this afternoon.  During the week, it is hard to get started in the evening, but maybe today will be better.  It is supposed to be in the upper 60's this afternoon.

Just before sunrise this am, I saw a dark spot down by the corner fence going to son's house.  I got the camera and say a young deer.

I went down by the goat pen and took several more pics.

Even after I turned the goats out, the two deer hung around in the road.

They did not leave the road for the other pasture until I came back to the house because of the cold.  Just now, I see two down in the valley next to Marr's.  Could be the same two, or not.

Today, I have plan on cleaning up the old laptop.  I need to get a lot of pictures off it.  It is so full of files that it bearly works.  I have cleaned the house, now I guess I will clean the machine.

Yesterday, I took the kids to the movies and stopped by Home Depot and bought a new washer.  They are going to bring it out and install it for free on Dec. 6.  I plan on start teaching the kids to do their own laundry.  They are not enthused, but it will be good for them.  Yesterday, I had Hannah help wash the dishes.  She was not happy, but she did it.  My job is to help these two kids learn to live in the world without me, one step at a time.  Robert says he is too big to sit on  my lap.

Happy Thanksgiving

It is cool and crisp this morning.  All is well.

I have started putting together my two salads to take to the Renfroe Thanksgiving feast and have biscuits in the oven to make the kids sausage and egg breakfast sandwiches.  They love the Jimmy Dean sandwiches.  I will see what they think of Grandma Aday's breakfast sandwiches.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Goats dance, pigs fly...

I'm too pretty for this pen.  I believe he thinks it is springtime.

Two of Helen's pig flew off to the butcher shop.

Hannah is at a friend's so it is just me and the boy tonight.

One more day of work and then 4 days off.

Drying Time again

Helen found this dryer online for $75.  It looks like new and drys clothes like a new one.  I was going to get a new washer and dryer, but now I only need a washer.

The boy takes care of the new billy every night.  He is such a good boy, always doing what he is asked without complaining.

I went walking this morning at 7.  It was just breaking day as I left.  I walked to Dick Newberry's house.  I think that is about 1 and a third miles. It is a mile to Dan's gate and a mile and a half to the old Orrell house.

I passed this house on the way home.

I have not done much this week, but I did get the deadbolt on the back door to work so we can lock the dog in when we leave.  The door would not latch so she would just push it open when she wanted out.  I guess it was her doggy door but not any more.

Yesterday I defrosted the freezer in expectation of Helen's hog.  I think Gilbert is helping her take them to butcher next week.

Today, I put George's pictures in the album.  Since I had sorted out so many of his pictures, I bought an album to put them but had not gotten around to actually adding the pictures.  It was a melancholy undertaking, but now it is done.

It was 70 degrees this morning but only 46 now.  It feels really cold.  Tomorrow is Church day.  I think it is supposed to be chilly in the morning.
