Girls at Camp

Robert and I went to services at Hannah's camp last night.  She is having a great time.  Tonight, our pastor will be there.  I had thought I might go listen to him, but last night was really long and really boring so I am skipping.  When trying to influence children's minds, first you need their attention and interest.  When the adults are bored beyond beyond, the children are not listening at all.  Just saying.

Presents

Sisters bought me new clothes to wear on our western adventure for Mother's Day.  I have been thinking I was going to have to buy myself a new fitness watch for Betty's birthday.  Son bought me a Gramin Vivosmart  HR or something like that for Christmas. At first I was not too keen on it, but then I started wearing it to work everyday.  Now, I feel lost without the watch.  The battery has  not been charging just right for the last week, and a few times it has quit on me in the middle of the day.  I depend on it so much, I charge it every night, but lately it has not been taking a charge.  Tonight it charged in a couple of hours, so maybe I was not plugging it in just right  It is hard to connect to the charging plug.  I may have to replace the battery. If I have to do that I think I will take it to Best Buy and have them do it.

But, the feature I really love about this watch that I do not think a lot of the fitness watches have is it can call my phone and make it ring even when my phone is on silent think. I don't think the fitbits do that.  Anyway, that stopped working on the watch last week.  Tonight, after I charged it, behold, it worked. I think this could be a big help on our vacation.  I know I had trouble finding my phone a few times last year.  I guess I will buy Helen something for Betty's birthday.

Happy Birthday

to Betty and Donald.

Almost

Over for 2016.  We are all a bit tired, but if we make it through this evening, we have survived VBS 2016.

Politicians, always causing trouble

Last night Trump and Hillary did not come to the barn with their mother.  We search for over an hour over both pastures but could find no sign of them.  There mother was not interested and seemed not to know she was supposed to have two politicians with her. We left all the goats out of the pen last night, but even this morning she was not missing her babies. Finally, around noon, she started calling for them and went right to them.  They were in the tall grass just 20 feet or so in the pasture across the road from the house, still in the same spot she left them.  I guess they were sleeping off a hard day in the media.

Tonight, they are all in the pen where they belone.

Tonight was the first night of VBS.  We survived!

VBS

Starts Sunday, kickoff is tonight.  Guess who is the Craft Lady for VBS.  The problem with attending such a small church, is the greater guilt for not doing your part.  Helen helps with food each night.  Last year I was the Craft Lady's Helper.  This year they were short two teacher.  In order to not be a teacher, I volunteered to be Craft Lady so last years Craft Leader can be a teacher.

We are making cross necklaces.

Instructions for the little plastic necklace are here
She says the ones that are too small for even this can string plastic beads on pipe cleaners and then just wrap them around their wrist for a bracelet. Our youngest are three, so this should work for them.

The top ones are plastic for preschoolers and maybe first grade.  On extreme left is wooden, then metal and black, hopefully for the boys.  Third is a blue one Hannah made in less than 30 minutes, forth is amber.  If the boys do not want to wear a cross they can make one to give to someone.

Today Hannah and I are going to Dicks Five and Dime in Branson to find black and metal beads for boys.  And we need more hearts for the little plastic ones.

I also have sun catchers for the little ones to paint and may get some more today.  If we have time left, which we probably will we are making rolled paper picture frames with pictures we have collected from calendars and other places.  My helper, who is Patsy's age, has been working with these.  I think I will need to make one or two before Sunday, just to see how it will go.

Instructions here

Which me luck, or as they say at Church, pray for me and all the children.
