Happy Birthday...

We had a great birthday at Church.  Pizza party and cupcakes.  I got 5 pizzas and 3 orders of bread sticks and it was just enough.

Miles to go...

Is 120.  I have logged 1130 miles this year.  I figured I needed 1250 to get to Charles and Sarah's place in Fredericksburg, VA.  Actually, that is going by way of St. Louis, to Perryville, to South Boston, then Fredericksburg.  Google says it is only 1108 miles from home to Fredericksburg.  I think I can say I am there and just walking around visiting relatives with Charles.  Maybe, I can spend Christmas with The Duke and Elizabeth.  My original goal was 100 miles each month this year, and I will make that easily.

Today, is my last day off work.  George and I are taking  him to the eye doctor today.  Then back to work tomorrow.

And, I have to make cupcakes and maybe cheese cake to take to Church tomorrow evening for Hannah's birthday.  This weekend will be our party here at the house.  I have to go order her a cake for that.  She says my cakes are ugly.

The house that Daddy built, early Sunday morning.

Saturday, goats and deer in same pic.  The first time I have been able to get them in the same frame.

Thanksgiving morning coming down.

Saturday, while Greg took the kids to Branson, George and I drove down to the Buffalo.  We say the elk and one swan on the mill pond.  I guess the swan has lost its mate.  Greg took the kids somewhere to do something each day he was home this time.  It was nice to  have time to do things like get Lane's cookies finished.  But, it has rained every single day since Thanksgiving.  It has stopped now, but turned colder.

The Buffalo rolling.

Hannah and I got the Church Christmas cards completed.  Robert would not  help.  I told him I was going to mark his name off the cards.  He was not concerned.  His only interests is presents for himself.  I did ask if he knew what the photo on our cards was and he said, 'Our Church'.

Helen??????

Beautiful kids.  Boys look like they are having fun with the chines.

I made dozens of cookies for Lane, 4 batches.  All chocolate chip or other chip flavors.  I am sending them Monday.  I need to know if I should freeze them, put them in the fridge, or take them up the road to the cooler house.

You need to come home.  The mice in your house are bitterly [meant literally, but bitterly might also fit] starving to death.  I guess they do not eat dead lady bugs.

Giving Thanks...

For our angels.

I always have a really small tree, but their Daddy bought them this big tree.  I let them decorate it themselves however they wanted to.  It looks find to me, except the star on top is leaning.  We did not notice until we looked at the photo.

Hannah said to send the picture to Aunt Helen.

Here is Hannah in her Christmas Angel dress for the Church play.  She has a length of lace draped around her.  It is a nice dress and did not cost much at JCP.  She can have it to ware for special occasions after the play.

I cooked turkey, dressing, potatoes, green beans, bread and pumpkin pies.  Yesterday, when I was talking to Sister Betty she was telling about what she had to cook, turkey and dressing.  I said I had to cook it all because I only have sons.  Someday, though, Hannah will be helping.  She made the cornbread for the dressing and the filling for the pies.  Now, all that is left to do is wash the dishes. The guys will have to handle that.

I just hope our boy half way round the world had a good day.

Oh Deer!!!

Tonight we counted 8 here.  The one far right in back is a buck.  Last night George counted 17 across the road on Dan's.

Our goats in the same field earlier in the day.

It turned out to be a really nice day today, up in the 60's.

Tomorrow, I have to pick up the kid after school for their dentist appointments.  Then, it is no more school or work for a few days.

Soon will be turkey day.

Miles to go...

Is 150, but as of today, I have logged 1100 miles since January 1. So, I am going to make my resolution goal of 100 miles each month this year.

Today's walk was the same walk as yesterday, but the weather was better, even though it was colder.  It was, I think 22 degrees when I started out at 7, but stuff was not falling the wind was not blowing.  Also, I wrapped up better.  I did not get cold at all, but it was slow going because I took the new camera.  Taking pictures slows me down. I am liking the new camera better and  better.  It was so frustrating to try to take pics with the one I had only to have the camera say, no way.

This was taken a couple of days ago.  He is watching the goats here.

And watching the deer here.

Everything was coated with frost this morning.  We had our first frost on November 8th this year.  I remember from when I was young, Daddy saying that the average first day of frost was always around October 10, Richard's birthday.

Frost everywhere.
