Girl Scouts instead. Saturday starts girl scout cookie sales. They are $4 a box this year.
I did do 15 minutes of weights this morning, and maybe will do a little more after while, but no time to walk. I should have went when I woke up this am instead of playing on the computer.
I am really having trouble with the Bible app. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. That is a shame because when it works I do like it.
The other thing about this tablet that is frustrating to me is I can not figure out how to minimize one screen to go to another screen or another program. If I leave one screen, even tho I do not close the program, it is often hard to find my way back to that same place. Still, I do like the tablet. I actually do most of my net and computer stuff either around bed time, or early in the morning. This little thing is better suited to use while sitting up in bed than a big laptop.
Tomorrow is back to work and back to school. It is supposed to get really cold tonight and be cold the rest of the week, with Wednesday not even getting up to freezing.
While we were out for the scout meeting, I went to wally world and got a fleece top to wear when it is so cold in the bedroom in the morning, or to wear when I go walking or even to work on cold days. If I like it, I may buy another one or two. It is very comfortable.
Today, at Church, I knew where to look in the Bible for all the books mentioned in the sermon. What started me on the journey to learn the books of the Bible was when the preacher said to turn to a certain book and I did not even recognize the name. I mean, I did not know there was a Bible book by that name. I am not sure which book it was, but I think it was Ephesians. That is one of the books that I had to search for the pronunciation. The others I was not sure of were Philemon, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, and Haggai. I think I know how to pronounce all of them now, but Zephaniah was really hard. And, I am not sure I am saying Habakkuk right, but at least I know where in the Bible to look for it.
I am off to start on Exodus.

One more
year older.
Yesterday, Helen and I went to Branson to buy hiking boots with the money Betty sent for my birthday. We took the new truck. It drives so much nicer than the old vehicles we have. This is what I bought at Bass Pro.
Yesterday, I made my favorite chocolate cake for my birthday. Thin Devils food cake, cooked on a cookie sheet topped with chocolate pudding, cherry pie filling and coolwhip. I made it in two throwaway pans planning to freeze one for some other day. The kids did not like my favorite and ate most of the plain one with ice cream. I still have lots of cake for this week. Not good for my diet I have read the book of Genesis and will start on Exodus today. I have logged my miles, done strength training, so on day 4, I am on track.
I do have one other resolution for 2015. I am going to take a trash bag with me as I walk and pick up trash along our road at least one day each week. I did that one day last week and left the trash on Helen's front step for her to dispose of.
Need to go now and get the kids up for Church. We start a new study book today. I can't wait. George is taking us, so I may take my walking boots and walk home after church. We will see.

They are light weight, insulated, and waterproof. Plus, no one will see me coming. They are made of vortex. I meant to try them out yesterday by walking up on the hill about sundown, but that did not happen. I may try them today, or not. It is supposed to be really cold and windy, but then it is supposed to be cold all week. Yesterday, I did walk 4 miles to the red barn, but that was early in the morning before we went to Branson.
This is my walking grab, a Mama word, with the new truck behind me. When it is cold and damp, I wear a tee-shirt, a sweater, the very nice rain red jacket Betty gave me, my bright yellow/green vest, this black thingy Helen got me for my face that really works to keep my neck and face warm, my fleece scarf, a toboggan, some type of leggings like the fleece leggings Helen got me that are so very soft and warm, jeans, heavy socks and fleece gloves. As I get warm after a couple of miles, I start taking off the head coverings to cool off. Really, even in windy cold weather, I do not get cold layered this way.
I also bought 2 additional pair of the climate right fleece leggings yesterday, because they are really warm and comfortable. I was going to buy a new set of sheets for my bed, but Helen had a credit somewhere online and she is ordering me a set of sheets that she thinks I will like. I was not in favor of her paying, but she said it was not a credit that she had paid for, but one she got because of her orders messup.

The goats yesterday morning, Sir Art, Little Red, Big Red.
The weather yesterday morning, supposed to be worse today.

Happy Birthday to me
It is too dark and wet to get a good picture. It is a 2010 Silverado 4x4, fully loaded. I really like it. I guess it is my new work truck. It is the nicest vehicle we have ever owned, and the most costly. I really like it.
I walked 7 miles today, to the Coin Church and back, did my 15 minutes of strength training, and ate semi healthy. I am going to read from the holy book later. I deserve a gold star.

The Beginning
But not sunrise picture because today we never had a sunrise, gray and drippy all day. But here is a calendar that tells when we should have had sunrise today, if there had been such a thing.
Still I walked my 4 miles tonight. Which reminds me of my computer problem today. I have been thinking today that I would make a few New Year's resolutions and write them here because one thing that will assist in actually following through with best intentions is to tell someone. You are someone so I am going to tell you my best intentions today:
1. Log the miles I walk
2. 15 minutes or maybe 30 minutes of strength training a day
3. Eat healthy, 5 vegetables and fruit each day
4. Post on my blog at least every two days
5. Read the Bible
So, it was logging the miles that made me aware of the computer problem. When I open the spreadsheet to put in my miles walked today, the cursor on the computer had disappeared. The touch screen works fine for reading and playing, but for real file work, you need the mouse and cursor. After restarting the computer twice, I tried Google. It seems with some laptops there is an F key that turns off the cursor. On my Toshiba is it the F5 key. Presto, back in business. But, the day was still gloomy all day long. And, Sunday night it is supposed to be down around 10 degrees. It must be January.
The 15 minutes strength training is just a few simple moves with a 3 pound weight in each hand, but I have not been doing them on any regular basis. I guess I will log that in my file also.
Eat healthy was going good until cold weather and then not so much. And, I have been eating chicken at work again. No more fried chicken every day, and back to counting vegetables and fruits And, less soda.
I have downloaded a Bible app from Olivetree. It has the King James Version and a couple of commentaries. What I would like is a ebook reference Bible where I could click on the reference and go to that point to read the reference. This is not exactly that, but it does have a commentary that works like that, and I can display the Bible and commentary side by side so it sorta works like I want. This was all free and is on the computer so I do not have to be online to read or use it. Of course, I can also read my regular Bible. Anyway, I am up to Geneses chapter 6.
I like to use the blog as a boring daily journal so I can look back and see what was when. I have tried several times to write a regular journal and have one by my bed that I started in August, but I can never seem to keep it going. A blog journal is easier for me.
Our local radio station has been saying all day that we will have freezing rain tomorrow. But, then, they were saying we had freezing rain today, when we did not. I hope they are wrong about tomorrow. I think KY3 is saying just rain, no freezing. We will see. And, maybe I will post what we have when, here.

The End
of 2014.
We are going to Frank Marr's memorial service tonight. He died the 26th. He will be buried in NM, but they are having visitation here tonight.
I have logged 84 miles walked in the month of December. That is 2.7 miles a day, or almost 1 hour walking each day. Of course some days I did not walk at all, but if I walk I nearly always do 4 miles. And, over the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas I have not been eating lightly but still did not gain weight. For Christmas, Helen made 3 pies and a carrot cake. No one here except me ate any of that. Finally, Mon and Tue I took the pies to work. Everyone said they were really good, but I am not telling her that.
I do not have to go back to work until Monday. I am going to try to find a reference Bible Ebook from my tablet. I want one where you click on the reference and it goes to that place in the Bible. I would not care to buy one, but I would want to know if it worked that way before I paid for it. I have found several free Bible Ebooks. I will try some of those and see what I think.
Helen is taking the kids to Church tonight. They are starting back on the kids Bible classes on Wed night. They like to go because there are other kids there, and hopefully they learn something.
I think I have the books of the Bible down pat now.
Got to go. If anyone wants to see Frank Marr's obit, it is on Smith Family Funeral Home at Green Forest. He was 82 years old.

Church day
Today I walked 4 miles, then we went to Church. George has started going with us. I think Helen is going tonight, but I am not. This week they start back with their Wednesday night Sunday school for kids and Helen says she will take the kids to that. They really like going if there is a kids class, but are not so keen on the preacher part.
Lane goes back to CA tomorrow, and I go back to work. But, I only work 3 days this week. We have New Years day off and I am taking the day after for my birthday that falls on Sunday. I forget how old I will be, but it is really old.
