Company's Here

Billy got here just before noon. He is up at Clayton's. They went to see Patsy this afternoon. I called Gilbert and I think he is coming over to see him.

It is nice to have male company. With female company you have to clean before they arrive. With male company no house cleaning is necessary.

This is a picture taken from my deck this am looking off down above the pond on my side of the road. The fog is rising off the creek. It lasted about 5 minutes and then was gone. It was 30 degrees this am, but was really nice today.

This was taken from my deck this evening looking off towards JR Snow's. The golden tree is in Norton's pasture and the barn in the distance is the Molder barn.

I did not have to go to work today. The audit ended Thursday and I already had 40 hours this week. We did good. Scored 95. Won't have to do this again for a year. I am so glad it is over.

I still have vacation days to take before my hire date of December 5. I am taking the whole week of Thanksgiving off.

These pictures were taken with my new camera. It has a 12x zoom while the one I had was 20x. This one is a Cannon Powershot SX130 IS. I am pleased with it.

Thrid Cousins

Jim Reed's grandson and Betty Renfroe's granddaughter are third cousins according to Legacy Family Tree, my genealogy program that is so much better than Family Tree Maker that Betty uses.

Their common ancestors are Melton and Gertrude Maples Powell (their great-great-grandparents) and they are both 4 generations down from this couple.

There is no 'removed' as they are both 4 generations from the common ancestor. You get 'removed' when the number of generations back to the common ancestor is not the same for each individual. Betty and Jim's grandson are first cousins twice removed because it is 2 generations back from Betty to her grandfather vs Reed's 4 generations. My program told the that also.

Happy Halloween

Rotert this morning buried in the garden dirt.

He loves playing with his trucks in the dirt.

Baking a dirt cake.

Putting on the finishing touches.

My camera came with an image editing program. Actually, my last camera had the same program but I never tried to use the program. I gave it a spin this morning and found it easily adds text to a image.

We took the kids home around 10 am. They have a room now and a small place to play outside that their mother can see from the front door. It looked to be better than where they were. I would never live in Eureka.

I am cooking an Aunt Betty Crocker angel food cake, meat loaf and oven potatoes. I love meat loaf but George is not too fond of it. He did not really get to vote. He will probably be glad to have something besides spaghetti. He just does not like meat loaf very much. He hates spaghetti.

It had been a beautiful day. Got up to 75 and it now at 73 at 4:30.

New picture show

The babies and I went to see Greta Ann this morning. We stopped off at Wally World and bought her a gift. The red headed girl picked out a pink blanket with a butterfly on it. I looked at the toys but told Hannah that the baby was really too little for a toy. No, we had to get a toy also. She looks a lot like Clayton. Little Clayton, not Big Clayton.

I asked Clayton to smile for the camera. I fell down with my camera a week ago today and broke it. I got a new one today. It takes as good or maybe even better pictures than the one I had, but it was not as expensive. It does not have as long a zoom so it may not take as good a picture of the deer a quarter mile away.

It did take good pictures of the kids running this way...

And that way chasing the birds in the park down by Erin's.

Bouncing on the duck.

And sliding down the slide. Then we went to old McDonald's and had burgers. We have had a fun day.

Now, we are going to rent How to Train Your Dragon on dish. I am sure Robert will love it.

My specialty

Dead subjects. Helen wants to know about he dead people around here. Specifically why Nelson's funeral service has no one waiting in the wings to be put in the ground. Nelson's is not the only dead and dying game in town now. We also have Smith's Family Funeral Service run by Jimmy Smith that I went to school with. Their building out somewhere past the new post office. Web site is here

http://www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.net/index.cfm

They do as many funerals on this side of the county as Nelson's anymore.

Helen says Patsy has to give Greta Ann a chicken. Clayton Jones is going to be very excited if Patsy Ann gives Greta Ann a chicken. He will want to keep it in his room to play with.

Been working, working, working getting ready for the audit at work. I would have to work Saturday except I am keeping the grand babies. I would lots rather take care of the babies than go to work anyway.

Supposed to freeze tonight.

The last picture show

Today was a really beautiful day. At first it looked like rain, but in the afternoon the sun came out and the day ended really nicely.

The hay is about done and it only got rained on a tiny bit.

Greta Ann should be having a coming out party any day now. New moon, new baby.
