The Best

I took the bday stuff to Oak Grove today and I got this prize from the County Fair. I always knew he was Number One. It is now hanging in my living room. It is beautiful.

Last day, back to the grind tomorrow

Grandson was here Sunday night and went back Monday. All he did was sit in my chair and take control of the TV. He pretended to be very concerned because Grandma kept saying she was sick and was going to die, but he would not let me have the nice chair or watch the news on TV. And, he has not called once since Monday to see if I am alive or dead. I think he was just pretending to worry about my impending death.

I did get the back room clean up. I threw away a lot of pieces of broken toys.

The biggest problem was really the closet. George helped with that by taking everything out, vacuuming the floor, and then putting back all the things I did not throw away. It is much better organized now and I did throw away some things.

One thing I threw away was a big stack of notebooks I had hand written notes about dead people. Even if there was something in there, I would never have been able to find it, especially since I did not know it was there. Now it has all gone to the smoke stack in the sky, or will once George gets around to burning the pit again.

Next Sunday is Robert's fourth birthday. I got him a clickstart computer that hooks to a TV. I do not know if it will be useful or not, but it will be as useful as a toy truck or airplane. Uncle Junior and Aunt Laura bought him 2 games to for it, Thomas the train and Bob the builder, but Junior does not know that yet. I have them all wrapped and I am going to take them over later today so his mother will know what not to buy him.

I got the baby girl a butterfly set for the bathtub. She loves Beat-er-bies. These paddle through the water when you pull the string, no batteries. She will love them.

Back to work tomorrow, but just two days and then a week end off.

Greg will be 36 tomorrow. Happy Birthday, son...

New Old Chair

Junior and Laura got new furniture. They brought this recliner down for George. George does not do change well, so I am pretty sure he will still lay on the couch to watch TV. And, mostly if he is not watching TV, he is not in the house. The chair is very soft and comfortable. It swivels, rocks and reclines. I think I will just quietly take possession of the chair. No one will ever know, if I do not tell.

This needs to be said

Over and over, by the 'media' and the 'public' in the United States of America where we are supposed to be the country of "liberty and freedom" for all.

The only reason anyone does not want children of the United States to hear the words of our President is because our President is Black.

Read that again, liberty and freedom for all. Not just a select few that happen to have the same skin tone that you have.

In this case, we must call a spade a spade, so to speak. Pun intended.

Going to seed

I have been gathering seeds from the flowers in my yard. I thought I would give some to Betty and her girls if they want them, but I also thought I would try to make my own seed packets and give some to the people at work. At Christmas, some of them give everyone a card and some give a small trinket to everyone. Usually I give a piece of junk, but this year I am going to give flower seeds.
I searched the web for patterns. I found several pretty ones that you could write on, but I wanted to type everything, instead of writing on them because sometimes I cannot read my own writing. I found this template for a seed packet in Microsoft word here
You can change all the words and the pictures. I put pictures of my own flowers on them. If anyone wants to try this, you select the picture they have on the template and right click and select change image instead of doing it the way I am used to doing it. Also to change the text, you select the text box and right click and select change text.
I had lots of fun making them, and have seeds to fill many more.
I got the babies yesterday, but took them back today. I am still sick. I feel worse today than I have all week. I think I may be in need of some of Obama's death counseling.
I do not have to go back to work till next Thursday. I have plans on cleaning the spare bedroom, but I am not sure that is going to happen. We will see... It is good to not have to go to work for a few days. I am really tired of that place.

The news

The babies were here this weekend. There mother was in the hospital, I think with the stomach flu, or some painful intestinal disorder. She was supposed to get released yesterday evening so I took the babies back about 6:30.

While they were here, Granny and Hannah went shopping for clothes. We were supposed to buy a new coat for winter, but we bought a few other things. They both have new coats, new jackets, new shoes and some new winter clothes.

Robert wore his new coat outside even though it was 70 degrees. He took it off after about a minute in the heat. Those are his new shoes. I think he will be able to put them on by himself.

I got them each a lunch box because they love to carry things around in containers. Robert does not take his lunch to school, but they both loved the lunch boxes. Robert has a few new words. Milk is a new word that grandma had trouble understanding, but that was more my hearing than his talking.

Hannah in her new jacket, new pants, new shoes. I was going to let her pick her own shoes, but she picked a purple pair of slippers. Grandma talked her into these good sneakers with pink hearts.

We had a good time and ate lots of ice cream.

I still have my cough cold, but it is not as bad now. Robert had the exact same cough so one of us must have caught it from the other.

It was really cool this am and is supposed to get down to about 50 tonight. This is very unusual weather for August. We may have ice in September.
