Walking at sunrise

 Well, just after sunrise about 6:30.

Helen is going to church with me today, then we go pick up her grocery order.  I have a surprise for her. I want to go to harter house a d check out their meat selection. She may just sit in the car for that. We will either go for lunch or order we or lunch to go. 

Wearin Betty's color

 BROWN!

The brown pants are castoffs from Laura.  I have had these two tops for over 10 years. I like the dark one.  The shoes I got at Ross's today for $25. They are really comfortable. After the wedding, I can were them to work. Or I have a pair of nice leather sandles I can wear with this.

But, Helen says the shoes are not brown. They look brown to me.

Is the baby sick?

 

No, just resting.

3 sisters

 Helen and I are spending the weekend at Sister Betty's.  She has a cute new baby.

See what I saw...

 

About 10:30 this morning.  They were in Helen's yard  by the new barn when I first saw them. The escaped up on the hill. I count 5 young ones.

New Watch

 My Fitbit was on it's last bit, so I got a new Samsung Galaxy7 watch today. 

So far so good. My Fitbit will not get notifications anymore. Probably because of Google. This is a Samsung Watch 7. My phone is a Samsung, so maybe the two will be a love match.

Walk and Eat

 

I walked to the blue gate today. I started at 6 am. It is 3 miles round trip. This is the first time I have done this walk since September 26, the day before I broke my ancle. 

It is cooler today. Got a little rain early, and it is overcast now.

Helen and I are going to Branson today to food taste wedding food with son and his woman. Going to have fun!

These two photos were taken in the yard of our family home place that Daddy built in 1948.  Daddy and Mama lived in this house the rest of their lives. Brother Clayton lived here from 1988 until his death in 2014.  Now it is Sister Helen's home.  

Everything about the place is old. This week, the water line broke where the outside faucet is located.  This meant she had to shut off her water entirely as it was on the main line. Today, that little boy, Kelly, in the yellow shirt in the top photo and Helen repaired that water line in the pouring down rain.

Kelly is the only surviving child of Sister Patsy. He is a jewel.

I don't worry much about forgotten dreams anymore. I have forgotten whole lifetimes of real happenings. Why worry about forgotten dreams?

I am down at Sister Betty's for the holiday weekend. We are having fun forgetting things together.

Circle of Friends

 

My friend Marie is retiring at the end of the month. We have worked together over 20 years. I got her this figurine as a retirement gift. Her and her husband are farmers, cattle and chickens. I thought it was a precious moments, but it is actually a Circle of Friends piece. That is really appropriate for a friend's gift.

New hair

 

Helen gave me v a permanent. It m looks better. Would have been hard to look wrose.

$100 Caserole

 

I made 2 of these breakfast casseroles to take to work tomorrow. I use 2 dozen eggs, hence the $100. Oh, but...

I used Astrid's eggs, so I am $100 ahead.

Dishman

 

Came and fixed my dish. Now I can watch TV if there was anything to watch.

I did watch the very first 2 episodes of Downton Abby yesterday so I might try that. I never watched it before. Patsy loved watching it. At least it is easy watching.

 

The traveling lamp

 Helen gave Betty a pole lamp a few weeks ago. The lamp did not suit Betty. I went to Betty's this weekend. The lamp came back with me and is now in my 'guest' room.

You know it is not going to be a good day...

 When the first thing at work you go to the restroom and the toliet blows up.

When the toliet flushed, water started shooting out of the toliet all across the stall. Just water, but still, gushing all over and would not stop.  Had to find someone with a radio to call for maintenance cause water was pouring all over.  It stoped after a couple of minutes and maintenance could not find anything wrong.  But, Subastian, the janitor was just outside in the hallway, so he knew who caused the problem.  He kept saying, 'it's ok. it's ok".  The rest of the day, I used the downstairs restroom.

Guest Room

 I have made a guest room out of Hannah's old room. She left the bed and dresser. I bought bedding and added a curtain I had. I just hope I di not have any guests.

More new to me everyday dishes

 

I got more everyday dishes at the hospital thrift at Harrison. The are a Rachel Ray pattern sold by target. I got 12 plates and 6 salad plates for $9.  I like them much better than the brown ones I got a couple months ago.

And I saw Laura's friend Amy as I was leaving.
