Oh Christmas Tree

The kids bought presents for everyone so we have lots if presents under the tree.

I am rid of my crutch now. Have to wear the boot until my next doctor's visit. 

It is good to be back to work. Something to make the day pass faster. And I have 2 days off now. When you don't have a job, you don't get any days off.

Has bought furniture to match her occupation.

I have gas

But that is a good thing.  I had a leak in the gas line, but they came out and fixed it today. Just in time for the cold.

With Sister Helen's help, I have Christmas ready for our crew at work.  The one on the left with blue things is for Em. Helen says she needs a Starbucks gift card to go with it. It has a coffee theme print.

Yippee,

Got a good report by my doctor yesterday. Leg us healing.  I am going back to work Monday.  Have to wear the boot and use a walker for the next month. I will be glad to have something to do besides read and watch TV.  My job is a desk job on a computer so no walking after I get there.

Bright and sunny

But a little windy. Yesterday was 70 today is suppose to be mid fifties.

But I have heat. We had a little gas problem yesterday but the 2 sons got it fixed. It's a good thing cause it is supposed to get colder. Maybe winter is coming. I am not a fan of winter and cold weather.

Today started off bright, but at noon it is overcast and looks like rain. Good day to stay on and read.

I am out on the deck for the first time in almost a week.

I passed the test, I guess

Or maybe I failed. The test said "you may be a psychopath if you get the answer to this test". I got it immediately, and did not even look at the answer to confirm. 

I bought myself a present

I sent Hannah to get my vitamins and she used my money to buy me a present. I am going to hide them so I don't have to share with Helen. These are my favorite.

Roof, Roof

Sister Helen got a new roof over the back porch that matches the rest of the roof. It looks really good.

Rain, glorious Rain

We are getting a steady Rain that started about an hour ago. We really needed rain cause first son needs to burn trash. It is dry like a desert here.

I saw on my news feed that being able to stand on one leg for a long time is a sign of good health. I must be really healthy because I have been standing on one leg for 6 weeks.

My plants are doing good under the lights.

My peg feels better today. I am sending positive vibes it's way for positive heeling.

We got a little rain yesterday night, a good steady rain, not a downpour.

Helen is off getting groceries at Harrison, so I am in charge for once.

Is Smith which come from occupation as metal worker as in blacksmith.  For centuries, every small English village had a blacksmith, often called Smithey.

Look at the most common name in Texas and California. Interesting.

Looking much better

The broken leg at least. These are pant Betty gave me. They just fit and are really comfortable.

1 month

I have trouble with my knee hurting on the knee walker. Helen made a new pad.  It works much better.

Cleaning chair

Since I cannot put any weight on my leg for at least another month, I bought a shower chair. I will try it out tonight.

Eliseo and Helen put it together, fussing the entire time. Helen tried it out and said it was sturdy. 

Beautiful Day

 To sit on the deck and do nothing.  I am getting better at doing nothng.

A new day

Today the two kids got caught up on their shots so the can continue going to school. I am glad they will not be hanging out with me everyday.

And, my insurance approved my temporary disability so I will start getting paid. It is called short term disability. They abbreviated it, but I do not want to say I have std, so I will just spell it out. 

It is hot here. Our thermometer says 86 right. Everything is shades of brown.

Summer again

It is 80 degrees already today. Feels like summer, really dry.

Leg is doing good, no pain at all.

I am just sitting on the deck soaking up sunshine.

Helen cleaned out  my fridge. She threw a bunch of food away. When she goes back home, I am going though the trash to correct her errors. I know I cleaned it out once last year. Can't imagine how she found anything outdated.  What year is this?

My indoor garden

I can never keep plants alive indoors because I do not have a sunny windows and I do not use much heat at night. The coolness really stunts plants. Like me, the crave warmth.

Back in the boot

Went back to the dr today. X rays looked good. I am back in the boot with no weight bearing for 5 weeks. Go back November 21 to see how goes it. Then gradual weight bearing.

So far, so good.

I needed to light the little wall heater since it is getting colder.  My furnace works, but this heater saves me a lot on my gas bill on the winter. I thought I might have to get son to light it for the season. This morning I git it lit after a couple of tries. No male help needed.

In case you can't read it clearly, temperature was 31.  Fall is here.

Now I got outside all by myself with the help of the ramp.  The sun feels good. Beautiful fall day...

The Cleaning Lady was here

Last night, after I had retired to my room, Hannah cleaned the house. This morning everything is gleaming. I am blessed.

The cleaner is the one in the middle.

Mobile assist

The Poor Boy, nephew Kelly, made me a short ramp for the back door.  It is just a 4 inch step down, but made it hard getting in and out. This works much better. Thanks, Kell.

Peg leg

Yesterday Dr. Cutler put a metal plate and screws in my broken fibula. It hurt like the dickens last night, but I had plenty of pain pills.  I woke up, as always, in the middle of the night. It had quit hurting all together.  Hasn't hurt at all today.

I am off work for 6 weeks. If I need more time, I can take more at that time.

Now I am just sitting here telling Helen all the things she is doing wrong.

All is well except the broken leg.

They made me put my initials on the peg leg.
